Re:

I had my appendix removed at the age of 9. That was 54 years ago. Hard to imagine. And my tonsils removed at age 6. ORs were quite different in those days. When I was 19 I had what they though was an ectopic pregnancy. They operated and found that I had severe adhesions on my bowel, which was total...

For me: 1. Frequent UTIs since a child (cleared up in my 20's but returned in my 30's and 40's) 2. Low blood pressure (doctors are always concerned and i set off alarms when I come out of anesthesia). 3. Easy bruising (but tend to have a low hematocrit and low ferritin - no known reason either). I'v...

I don't like the texture of rice flour...they always seem gritty to me. My favorites are millet and teff flours...they're really light and airy. :)

Yes, grade 4 endometriosis. My fallopian tubes were destroyed from it (worst case my pathologist had ever seen in her career). My entire insides have been found stuck together at least twice (three abdominal surgeries thus far). I've also been unable to get pregnant despite 10 IVF cycles and 30 embr...

Hi Tex, How interesting about a low grade fever being a symptom of IBD! This is something I did not know. It still makes me wonder about many cases of IBD then being related to a pathogen of some sort? I had an occurrence of D that lasted for 4-5 months a few years ago (2003 I think). It started the...

Hi Sharaine, Welcome to the site. That you were spiking a fever makes me think you might have a bacterial/viral infection going on (many here have had infections that they believe led to their having MC or LC). Did you GI order all of the routine studies to see if you have an infection in your intes...

Gluten Free Crumpets Found in London!!

I just got back from a trip to London and found that two stores often carry gluten free crumpets! I used to adore regular crumpets and never thought I'd find gluten free ones...but I did! :-)) Tesco stores carry them (though not the small stores - have to go to a larger one). Package of 4 crumpets f...

Should I bother will allergy testing?

Hi everyone, I just saw my GI a few days ago as I had a recurrence of D that started after a meal of Chinese food and then lasted me about 6 weeks. It was preceded and accompanied by a strange tugging/gnawing sensation on my lower left side that started about 3 weeks before the D kicked in - so they...

Re: Surgery and MC - a woman's question

I'm just hoping for some advise and maybe some encouragement since I'm so nervous now. I am scheduled for surgery 5/31....The main reason is because if you are a woman and have what I call the doubles (pain from MC and endometriosis and fibroids); it's not a good situation and I'm hoping for some k...

I would suspect the coconut milk (I am assuming you used canned or powdered). I am allergic to casein and I've actually seen casein as an ingredient on a few varieties of powdered coconut milk. Perhaps it had gluten in it? Not sure why a manufacturer would add that in though.

Well, the only correlation I am seeing "so far" is that LC is more correlated to polyps than is CC (or is it that we don't have many CC members on this board answering my poll? I should have had answers that covered this aspect!) I wonder if there is such a correlation? Research seems to s...
