My vet told me that they associate the litter box with pain so they avoid it.

I developed MC a few months after I adopted a cat who had inflammatory bowel disease. I did not know he had it until after I brought him home. I have often wondered if there is a link there. Perhaps IBD can be transmiited from pets to humans. I would like to know if anyone else on the forum has had ...

Have you asked your vet about Vitamin B12 injections? That is what worked for my cat. The vet tried probiotics, a special diet, antibiotics, etc. but only the Vitamin B12 worked.

I am thinking of doing the 23andme testing, but I don't know if it is a rip off and it would be throwing $199.00 away.

Can anyone advise me about that?

If I had a blockage, I don't think I do now. This morning I went through a spontaneous clearing out. Since the constipation episode followed by lots of sludge I have had thin ribbons of poop. Today I had small bits of poop followed by a large amount of sludge x2 followed by watery diarrhea x2. There...

Tex The colonoscopy report says I may have a sigmoid loop and mentions a tender anus, but that is probably from the prep. It was a very painful procedure but I am not sure why. Gabes I have been reading the threads you posted about magnesium. I found an oil or a lotion on Amazon.ca. The price is $66...

I take 166 mgms of magnesium twice a day. I think there is some misunderstanding about my constipation. I have not had any hard stools since I got LC in 2009. It was watery stools from day 1. I now have fewer BMs but they are not usually formed. It is just that I have trouble going sometimes. I thin...

Tex, thanks for your advice. Since yesterday I have decided that I may have anal stricture or stenosis. Apparently lymphocytic colitis can cause that. If that is true I would be reluctant to take Dulcolax. Nerdhume, thanks for the links to the videos. I will try some of the suggestions although I ca...

GROSS ALERT!! REALLY NEED HELP!! I have continued to decrease the budesonide and have been taking it every fourth or fifth day for a while. This week I have had problems. Until this morning I had no BMs for three days. That has never happened to me. It was not uncomfortable so I was not straining to...

Tex, I have been thinking the same thing about the health benefits of having microscopic colitis. My diet is much better since I got MC - no junk food, no sweets or ice cream, low fat. My waistline is what it should be. I just wish I could eat salads and more vegetables. Every cloud has a silver lin...

I read the book a second time. I highly recommend it. There is a lot of compelling evidence in this book that Vitamin D deficiency is implicated in many medical conditions. I have always been a great believer in taking Vitamin D in higher doses than doctors recommend. My Vitamin D level has been tes...

Vitamin D and Autoimmune Disease - Tex's Book

Tex, I just finished reading your book and I thought it was excellent. I am going to read it again as more than one reading is necessary. I have a couple of questions having to do with steroids and Vitamin D. I think you said that steroids increase the number of VDRs. Given that, how does discontinu...

Since my last post on November 25th, I have been decreasing the budesonide. I got down to taking it every third day. Then I realized that my worst days were the day and the day after I took the pill. So I started taking it only when I thought I should take it. This went on through December. I took a...

That is great! I am reducing my budesonide at present after enduring LC for over five years. Right now I think that most of my symptoms are side effects of the drug. It can be difficult to tell which are side effects and which are LC, like lots of gas and other things. You are an inspiration to all ...
