Re: Are antihistamines safe to use long term??

I’m back again. Not for MC which is thankfully in remission but for all of the other MC hangers-on that just won’t go away. I acquired Sjögren’s syndrome when MC made its debut. SS seems to make other health issues worse. I knew I had histamine issues 10+ years ago but they have gotten worse and wor...

Re: New drugs

Hello Tex, You were right, it was the sheep’s milk cheese that caused the D. Combined with eating too many grains and a dash or stress, it was a giant trigger. So despite sheep’s milk being easier to digest, the casein etc is still poison for those of us who cannot tolerate dairy. This was a wake up...

Re: New drugs

Thanks, Tex. I’ve definitely overdone the sheeps milk cheese the last 3-4 weeks. No more cheese. No more Ben & Jerry’s non-dairy ice cream either. I’ve stopped the Cevimeline as an experiment and feel better. I was experiencing side effects and feel better without it. I lost 6-7 lbs when I was s...

New drugs

Hi Tex, I haven’t been here for a long time. You, Polly and others helped me reach remission and I’m back again with questions. I’ve been in remission for 10+ years. By remission I mean no diarrhea. My digestion is often problematic but I can live with it. My diet is gluten and soy free and mostly d...

Thanks, Brandy. Chris bought Novak’s book and read it. It didn’t change his eating habits then. He’s finally reached a point where he’s so tired of the diarrhea and the impact on his life, he’s ready to do something about it. He is divorced and knows dating with D is pretty impossible. Sheila W

Thanks, Brandy. I’ll give him the websites you recommended. Chris is a tennis pro and when Novak began talking about going gluten free, Chris certainly noticed. Chris is single and doesn’t cook. He is pretty clueless about food and has never been particularly interested in food. I think he has alway...

Hi Tex and old friends here on the Forum. I checked in today looking for diet ideas for my 49 year-old son. He undoubtedly has MC and has had it for at least 7+ years. (My mother also had MC) He’s finally taking it seriously (I hope) and he promises he will see a new GI, stop eating gluten etc. I bo...

New Member trouble registering

Someone on the MC Facebook page said she couldn’t register because of a “code” she needed. I don’t know what she is referencing. Is there a code? Please advise and I’ll try to help her get started here.

Thanks,

Hi Martha, I also took Zyrtec for years in aid of MC primarily. I stopped taking it because of my Sjogrens diagnosis. Sjögren's caused an extreme reaction to lower level allergy responses. I was tested for about 100 allergens by an allergist and I’m receiving minute doses of those allergens I reacte...

I tried Quercetin for allergies last winter. I have Sjogrens and can’t tolerate antihistamines. My MC is in remission and I’m pretty careful about what I ingest. Quercetin didn’t help much with my allergies and gave me some abdominal pain. I decided to have immune therapy for the allergies and that ...

I took 3 mg budesinide for almost 2 years, weaning off the last 3-4 months. I also have Sjogrens Syndrome and see an eye specialist twice a year. My ocular pressure started to go up and I was put on glaucoma watch. I also have a genetic risk for proliferative glaucoma. I’ve been off budesinide for m...

Thanks, Tex. I hope the shots take care of both allergies and intestinal issues. I had no idea how miserable seasonal allergies could be. I appreciate your input. My MC is in remission but I still have numerous food issues. My acceptable food list shrinks yearly and I can’t seem to gain weight. I ca...

Hi Gabes, Thanks for the reminder re B vitamins and magnesium. I overloaded B12 a few years ago and I cut back. I also cut back magnesium from 800 mg. I have methylation issues and take active B12. I’m also hoping Quercetin will help long term. I’m attempting to study epigenetics. It’s a really inte...
