Thanks for the responses!

I'll be sure to give an update. Going to get my blood work done this week, and will get results w/in 2-3 weeks. He's having them check for lupus (SLE), celiac sprue (though he found no evidence of that in the colonoscopy), and Crohn's (some familial history). I'll update on that too...

Activia or Entocort?

Hi all, Had my GI appt. last Tuesday (and the doc was actually very attentive and informative - what a relief!). I was given the Rx for Entorcort, which I had filled the next morning and started right away. Rewind to approx. two weeks prior: Out of desperation I started eating Activia (probiotic yog...

Thank you all very much for your input. The reason I ask, as you might have guessed, is that I have pain and fatigue to the point it has really begun to interfere with life - as if the D isn't enough! I have a (pardon the pun) "gut" feeling that there is more going on with me than just the...

I'm sorry you're having such a bad time. Pain is the one thing that will send us into the black hole. Diarrhea, changing eating habits, family, friends and docs that don't understand are all manageable. Many times pain isn't. I'll pray for a pain-free day for you tomorrow, and time to regain strengt...

How many here experience joint and muscle pain w/MC?

Hi all, I'd like to know how many of you experience joint and muscle pain - not just the usual aches/pains of age - but pain that causes you to move differently and generally wears you down. The kind that you deal with during the work week because you have to, and end up spending your whole weekend ...

Tex, Gloria and Sara, thanks so much for your help and kind words! It's going to take a while to get used to this - someone gave me a white chocolate and macadamia nut cookie today - my favorite - and I didn't even think about it until about 20 min's after I enjoyed it. Let's just say the enjoyment ...

Thanks so much for the information you've provided, and the support! My husband has been wonderful about this, but I can't keep using him as my only sounding board, so having you here means the world to me (and him no doubt ha!). The main reason I had to wait for my appointment, I think, is because ...

Recently diagnosed LC newbie, first GI appt. on 6/6

Hello all, Had my colonoscopy on 4/25/11, got the bx results back with a call from the GI that I have LC. Couldn't get in to his office until next Tues. 6/6/11. It's been really difficult to wait this long, but I've had symptoms for years so what's another 2 months right? haha! Anyway, I am hoping s...
