Thank you! I will ask the doctor about the RBC magnesium test and see if she is willing to order it. She included Vitamin D in the tests she ordered so I will find out if he is still deficient in that - my guess is that he is. In the meantime, I will go ahead and order some Magnesium Glycinate and h...

Thank, Tex! He is not taking magnesium. His pediatrician did a blood panel a few years ago and found that his D was low. He has taken 1000 mg of D since then in addition to his multi vitamin. I have wondered if that low dose of D is enough but the Ped wanted to wait until he is 18 to rerun the blood...

Antidepressants

Hello, I have a 17 year old son who is suffering from depression and anxiety. I have CC - he does not but has had another illness (ITP - immune system attacking platelets, this was a one time case that has not reoccurred) that makes me worry that he could be susceptible to developing MC or some othe...

Tex, it seems that we have had a lot of common symptoms. I posted about some additional symptoms I have a while back (enlarged lymph nodes and spleen, lung nodules etc.). I am still being followed by a hematologist to make sure I don't have lymphoma and I know that you went through something similar...

Symptoms?

Hi All, I have been in a flare for quite some time but occasionally experience more severe symptoms and I am wondering if anyone else has similar symptoms or knows what may cause them. My flares consist of WD many times per day, some fatigue but very little pain. Occasionally I will have what I call...

Thanks for the information, Tex. I have only been drinking coffee for a few years so I don't know how it would have affected me prior to the MC diagnosis. Sounds like I should have tried it because I had chronic constipation prior to the WD. I think I will try removing it temporarily to see what hap...

Thanks, Gabes. Forgot to mention that I stopped taking vitamin D when I stopped all supplements a few weeks ago. I will try adding that back in also.

Gabes, I am taking the Sandoz Cholestyramine - regular, not the light version. I think that is the same one that Polly said she takes. The pharmacist gave me a different brand last time (Par). It is not light either but I think the Sandoz is better so I went back to that one for now. I think I will ...

Thanks for responding, Gabes! I took the Cholestyramine about a year ago and it helped end a previous flare. I was still taking it when my current flare started. It wasn't helping with this one so I took a break from it for a few months. I have only been taking it for a week this time. I can try swi...

Is expired Entocort OK to take?

Hi All, I have been in a flare for 8 months with no end in sight. Currently I am only eating chicken, white organic rice, salt, pepper, coconut oil, unsweetened tea and black coffee. I am thinking of dropping the coffee and possibly adding bone broth but can't find grass fed beef bones anywhere loca...

Thanks, Tex! It is good to know that you had some similar symptoms and that it was not cancer. I have wondered if this could be MC related but couldn't find any connection of the symptoms to MC. I have been in a bad flare for around 10 months now so I would be interested to see if the lymph nodes im...

Hi Zizzle, Thanks for posting about your experience, your question regarding immune deficiencies caught my attention. I am interested to know if you learned anything from your hematologist. I have wondered if I could have CVID also but my doctors have not looked into that yet. I am seeing a hematolo...

I had to answer no because I am IGA deficient. I would have the tests if it were an option for me.

Tex, I started taking pure green coffee bean extract about a month ago. I have been able to manage my D symptoms fairly well since stopping entocort about a year ago but Norman never came to visit. I have seen Norman about 10 times since I started taking the green coffee supplement. I was going to p...
