B 12 Methyl
Thank you Henry, I am on the right track now. Lots of reading still to be done still but I see why you say methyl vitamin B12 is absorbed better than other forms. What I have been taking is synthesized in a lab and can pose potential problems when it comes to absorption. Methyl has also been shown t...

Active B12
Thanks Gabes, I will purchase an “active” form of B12 next time I re-up. I have almost finished this bottle off. Also, will education myself on “methylation”. Hope you are doing well. I am grateful to you for the time you put into helping others navigate the ever-changing, shifty sands of this disea...

Vitamin B12
My latest blood work came back with vitamin B12 depleted. I have had Colitis for 7 years and this is the first time my doctor told me such a result. I bought 1000mg B12 from Costco (brand:Nature Made). I go back for a follow up blood test end of August to find if any improvement.

Follow-up 2 years after retirement
Hello Everyone, I wanted to post a testimonial saying where I am at now after 2 years of retirement. I took early retirement at age 62 because it had become hard for me to plan menus, shop, cook, and adhere to a strict diet while working 40 hours a week because of the fatigue I was experiencing. Tod...

My first Colitis post since Retirement
Hi Everyone, Since I am not sitting on my butt in an office all day I am rarely on the computer anymore. I miss you all. It's been three months since I retired and it is going good. The terrible job stress is gone. The only stress I have now is financial, trying to live off 1/2 the income I am used ...

Hi Dana, Sorry you are experiencing a flare up. Sounds like you went a good year without one. One thing that helps me get a flare under control is pepto bismal. It stops the runs long enough for my chicken broth/soup diet to kick in and once my intestines settle from their state of inflammation I ca...

Hi Anne, That is a good question you posed. When is a flare a flare? For me a flare is when I consider my quality of life affected. Discomfort at work, too fatigued to socialize, hungry but afraid to put food in my mouth, depressed. It's not so much how many BM's I have but more how my gut feels. Ha...

Checking In
Hi Everyone, It's been a while since I've left an update on the message board. What's new with me is I'm going to take the early retirement option(age 62) and leave work this January. The reasons are many - the top two being: 1/ the amount of added work load since budget cuts/layoffs last year upped...
