I did the antihistamine this time too, Henry. I think it helped me as well.

I have the cramping, too, Barbie. My symptoms progress like this: Stomach pain and bloating after eating: I always have this, and have had it as long as I can remember. It's not after every meal but it never fully goes away. It's better if I lie down while eating for some strange reason. Cramping: T...

Update: I'm much better now thanks to my highly restricted diet. I'm starting to add back a little more variety and so far, so good. I had made an appointment with a new gastro for this past Thursday in case I needed to get meds. I was somewhat better by the time the appointment rolled around but de...

I know Benadryl helps me. When I take it, I can sleep in rather than being awakened at 4am with D. But, I'm concerned about taking it too much because I seem to remember it's been linked to Alzheimer's. I just ordered some Chlorpheniramine to try. I'm not sure if it's shown the same linkage to Alzhi...

Thanks, Tex. I was beating myself up pretty hard for this, as I knew better. It helps to know I'm not the only one who has done something like this.

I was doing better, then I dared to eat a GF cookie. :???: Mistake! Probably because of a small amount of soy. I guess my gut needs more healing time before I can eat anything but turkey/rice/potatoes/overcooked veggies/bone broth. I have no excuse except that I wanted the cookie.

I'm better today! Still have D, but only 2 episodes which is down significantly in frequency. And, I feel some energy! I think I may be able to get through this flare without resorting to meds. I've been eating hominy grits for breakfast (I'm from the south so I like them, and it's a low-fiber grain...

I'm right there with you, Marcia. I'm having a flare after a 7 year remission. If I had a cruise in 10 days, I would be heading to the doctor for Budesonine, especially if it helped you before. (I couldn't tell from your post if you're still on 3mg or if you're off of it entirely).

I'm sorry. While no one wants to be diagnosed with something like MC, I know I almost felt relief when I was because at least then I knew what I was dealing with. I still think you can get help here, though, like Gabes described. It can't hurt to try! Good luck to you--I hope you get relief soon.

Thanks Susan and Erica!

I don't know if I can fast, either. If I do try it, I'll let you all know how long I last!

We're getting smoke from the California fires now. So depressing. I think you're onto something with your thoughts on the fires, Tex. Some other random thoughts: My LC has jetlag. This flare started when I was on the east coast, and now it wakes me up super early every morning. When I first returned...

Hi Karen, Does your small town start with an S or I....I lived in Kent as a young child :-) Near Maple Valley. You ought to be able to find a likeminded naturopathic Dr in your area....good luck! Yes Walla Walla only has so many choices and I will need to re-look as my last dr retired :-( We get to...

Erica, I'll look into the Betaine HCL once I'm through this flare. Thanks for the recommendation! And I just noticed you're from Washington, too, but I think I saw in another thread you're from the eastern side of the state? I'm east of Seattle, but west of the Cascades (around Redmond in a small to...

Yes, Henry, it is the worst mix possible! Tex, yes, I think you're right. The ibuprofen is probably the main culprit here. I can't believe I didn't think of it right away since I know I can't take much of it at all. Erica, you mentioned heat as a contributing factor to your MC. Interesting! I live i...

I know I don't have the genetic variants thanks to 23andme.com. That said, I know I'm in the middle of a severe inflammatory response because of something . I remembered one other thing--I have a hip problem which was causing me some pretty significant pain last week (flying always makes it ...
