Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Well, it was really easy and took the guess work out of everything-which I needed at the time. It let me make large quantities of food with very little clean up afterwards.

Re: I need your help please.

Broken record here.....but I DIDN'T HAVE NORMAL BM'S that quickly. I guess my GI system just reacts positively OR negatively to things at a much slower rate!!! (Cancel that..I can react negatively very quickly to things...). I don't feel like anyone has ever told me what the MAXIMUM DOSAGE OF CHOLES...

Re: Time Changes continue to disrupt me

Well, here in Arizona we don't change!!! Drives me crazy though because they seem to want to say we are Mountain Time..but that's only half the year! Pacific Time the other half of the year.. When we are Pacific and I hear someone say we are "Mountain Time"-I tend to give them a bunch of g...

Re: How do i know if I should take cholestyramine

I'm going to respectfully disagree with Tex on this one!!! I don't have any real problems with taking MASSIVE amounts of cholestyramine!!! If anything, it's more of a inconvenience given I have to drink alot of water with it....and if you take meds then you have to take them an hour before or 4 hour...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Acorn squash, butternut squash and pumpkin all got cut up into bigger bite sized chunks and pressure cooked for I don't remember how long-just veggies done together. I'm sure there is a setting on my pressure cooker for veggies!! They were well "pressured" - that's for sure. I just did who...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Sorry I'm reading this very late but I figured I would throw out the fact that for the longest time I pressure cooked EVERYTHING!!! Of course everything wasn't very much of anything back then  I did bone broth from lamb bones in my crockpot (Whole Foods had frozen lamb bones). I didn't do any...

Re: I need your help please.

I responded to Marta on this via private message...I forgot about her thyroid issues which I don't have to deal with. The thing that makes me think you have bile acid issues Marta is that you do get some fairly significant positive response initially to taking it (and you've tried 2 different types,...

Re: Major breakthrough for diet non-responder: low stomach acid (THANK YOU Laine!)

Sorry I am just seeing this, but SWEET!!!!! I'm so glad that my story has helped someone!!! That's why I still lurk around here!!! I think people would just think..."why would I be deficient in stomach acid?". That was me. I read about it here and then when things bottomed out and I got so...

Re: fecal incontinence

I'm quite experienced in this area unfortunately and not trying to be weird or anything-but given that I used to ride my bike and or walk around my general neighborhood area (kinda rural, pine trees in Colorado) regularly...I'm probably the champion with having "accidents". Yes, "diap...

Re: Bile Acid Binders that AREN'T Cholestyramine...Any Success Stories out There?

Thanks to you all for replies..yes Susanne and Marta have corresponded with me. I told Marta that I have a yearly PCP visit in a few weeks and messaged them about wanting to try Welchol and they said fine, let's talk about it then. I'm doing this to just simplify my life. I haven't looked into any o...

Bile Acid Binders that AREN'T Cholestyramine...Any Success Stories out There?

Ahoy Potty People- I'm aware of different bile acid binders that come in pill form (Welchol comes to mind)..I was wondering if anyone has success with these..and if so, where in this big world do you live? And how much of it do you have to take a day? I would love to be able to suck down a few pills...

Re: Soy-free magnesium topical?

Honestly I didn't start doing mag PILLS until I was pretty good on 8 packets of cholestyramine a day! I wasn't willing to risk diarrhea because of oral mag, so I did lotions for a long time..again, I slathered all available surfaces with that stuff multiple times per day! Which worked for me because...

Re: Soy-free magnesium topical?

Posting a little late on this but I was someone who tried alot of magnesium...did oils initially, then stepped up to lotions. My favorite is Elepure (Amazon, made in Utah), Mo Maggies is also nice. I based my lotions on how much magnesium was per teaspoon of lotion I believe. Also did Remag...not su...

Re: I need your help please.

Hello People- I did a personal message to Marta but I wanted to just post this anyway. Yes, Tex....I don't check in often anymore because life is good! But life is good because of this page  I HAVE to take Epic cholestyramine. No other brand has worked for me and fortunately Epic is a generic ...

Re: EPIC PHARMA cholestyramine

Mine gets refilled with a 3 month supply so maybe I'm out of the loop on this issue? I had no problem with my last refill. Sounds like Tex has done the research on this-thanks Tex! I hope everyone is well...like Tex said, I don't check in that often->I probably just sound like a broken record anyway...
