WEIRD THINGS HAPPEN====
Hiya Shirley-----
U said it Xactly!!!!
We must have that *phantom* peering over us???
Cus I just dont get this-----the colors are so pretty--
Appears whenever I am using the puter strange things happen___
Lou asked me if I had a magnet in my hands????? Cus that would distort the colors----Sure I always walk around with a magnet!!!
Shirley---when my son was about 5 years old thats just what he did--*lol*--he sat in front of the TV--and with a magnet he twirled around the colors in the set!!! and he called me in to see *all the pretty colors*
But I am not 5 years old---I dont walk around with a magnet---and I dont twirl the colors around on the puter---UFF
I have had more weird things happen with this set---oooooooh--maybe somebody trying to get thru to me????
Will let U know what happens!!!
Maybe an arm is going to come thru and *suck* me into the screen!!!!
Take care dear Shirl---
luv Barbara

Cuz,
You sure you haven't been doing some funky drugs from back in the sixties?
I honestly don't know what could cause this - except the magnet you're NOT carrying around!
How old is your confuser? Does it sit near a window in direct sunlight? Are all your connections snug?
And just where is that Tex fellow?

Hi Mrs. Coumbo,
My, but you do come up with some interesting computer problems. LOL.
Sorry to be so late to respond--I had to work way up into the night tonight. We're still putting corn in the bins, and that sometimes calls for long days, (and nights).
Well, unless your video card has a bad connection, or has gone berserk, the most likely explanation for your problem is magnetic effects on the monitor screen.
Removing residual magnetism is called degaussing, and most monitors do that automatically, each time they are turned on. If your monitor has been off for at least 10 minutes, then it should automatically degauss the screen when it is powered on. (At least 10 minutes of "off" time is required, in order to allow the "positive temperature coefficient" resistor sufficient time to cool down. It limits current flow when it heats up. When the monitor is cold, this resistor passes current to the degaussing coil, and after a few seconds it heats up and cuts the current off.
If residual magnetism is the problem, and your monitor's automatic degaussing coil is not working properly, it's possible to manually degauss the screen but you would have to have a degaussing device, (coil), and know how to properly use it. I can describe how to use it, if you have one, but, it's hardly worth buying one, unless you're going to get a fair amount of use out of it.
Your monitor shouldn't need degaussing, unless it has been moved, or rotated. I suppose it's possible that your PTC resistor, or degaussing coil is defective, but that would be pretty rare.
Has your computer been jostled around, dropped, bumped, etc, or anything else that might have partially disloged your video card from it's slot? Has someone been playing around inside your computer case, who might have accidentally knocked the video card part way out of its slot?
If your monitor always stays on, try turning it off for at least 10 or 15 minutes, (or longer, for good measure), and then turn it back on. That should solve your problem. If not, we'll have to check the seating of the video card.
Luv,
Galahad

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
