Hi Marliss,
Just checking in to see how you are adjusting to the CPAP. I have used one for a couple of years. (And, so does my DH) My sleep problems were weird (as are most of my issues) but the CPAP has made a difference in several of my health issues.
I have purchased equipment from a couple of online vendors and had good service. PM if you want to know who I have dealt with. You can buy new equipment for 1/2 MSRP at several online places.
Good luck with this new adventure. Sounds like CPAP may help you quite a bit.

Hey Y'all!! Thanks for your concern! I've been busy, adding getting ready for my girls' and my three-week trip to the Midwest coming up on Wednesday to everything else going on.
I will receive my CPAP tomorrow, so I haven't been experiencing a good night's sleep yet. I decided to get the nasal pillow, so hopefully that will have a fairly quick adjustment. The chart the doctor gave me was an eyeopener--I had no idea I spent so much time sleeping on my back. But the most serious apnea event occurred when I sleeping on my side and in REM sleep. Over the course of about 1/2 hour, I stopped breathing many times for at least 30 seconds, once about 45 seconds. No wonder my blood pressure is higher in the mornings. It's like I am suffocating and there is nothing I can do to help myself because of course, in REM sleep one's muscles are paralyzed.
The appointment with the endo was disappointing. He was no more helpful than my GP. Thankfully, there is a naturopathic college across the river in Portland, and I can go over there and let them practice on me for not a whole lot of money. When I get back from my trip, I am planning on going over there.
