It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Lish,
You mentioned that you don't have much of an appetite early in the day, but then eat dinner, and you have GERD issues.

My SIL has been struggling with GERD and he has been told to "front load" his food--eat more earlier in the day and not eat any food at all for 4-5 hours before going to bed. I also try to eat more earlier in the day and eat a very light dinner at 6:30-7PM, and I feel much better doing so. I eat nothing after dinner.
When I had the endoscopy/colonoscopy that led to my LC diagnosis, the pathology report indicated esophagitis, and I have never had symptoms of GERD, but it appears something is/was going on.

You say you did not experience significant weight loss despite D;neither did I. But, once I cut back on gluten I dropped a quick 5lbs., which I figure was bloat, and since I have not been eating much carbs, GF or otherwise, I am fitting into clothes that haven't fit in a while. So, it appears inches are being lost.

You mention issues with anxiety/panic. Do you exercise? I walk, do yoga, and a strength training class. It has made a difference for me, and I am almost weaned off of Celexa and feeling fine.

I have not done Enterolab testing, though I haven't ruled it out either. I have taken Entocort with no ill effects, and also balsalazide. I believe Entocort works better for me. I also take Imodium on a regular basis, with occasional breaks if I know I'm not going to be traveling.

Best of luck to you in this search to find what works. It's a highly individual thing' as so many here will say.
