Yes, since diagnosed with MCC I have had to rely on Tylenol for the pain I suffer from a deteriorated disc in my neck. Last week I had used the Tylenol for over 24 hours with no relief when I took the Advil. I was desperate and just hoped I would not suffer the consequences. I will definitely look into some stronger pain killers that are not NSAIDs. I'll keep you all informed as to how all that goes. Information is power for all of us. Thanks.

I have found that half a Vicodin works wonders, especially if it is taken early in the onset of pain. For a headache, a little caffeine with it usually does the trick.
With Vicodin, we have to be careful because it can cause motility (constipation) issues. I have not had that problem with half a Vicodin, though your mileage may vary.

Great! If you're not sensitive to gluten, dairy, or soy, you should be able to slowly reintroduce fruits and vegetables back into your diet after your intestines have had some time to heal.
Good luck with healing, and thanks for the update.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Sellis,
FWIW, I have found that I can eat lettuce in limited quantities, as long as I stick to "soft" lettuces, such as butter or Boston lettuce, or baby lettuces found in some salad mixes. I have not touched iceberg lettuce in probably twenty years, just because it has no taste, no color, and no apparent nutritional value. I can eat Romaine as long as I cut out the tough rib, but have to avoid any lettuce that has a defined stalk and/ or pointy leaves, like frisee. For me, limiting fiber that will "rough up" the colon has helped.
In general, I have not found it necessary to exclude raw vegetables, thank goodness. But I eat them in limited quantities.
I do believe that my LC was, at least partly, drug-induced by NSAIDs and SSRIs, both of which I have eliminated. i also suspect Fosamax, a bone density med that I have also discontinued. I am finding relief with Entocort and Imodium. I have also tried an anti-inflammatory called balsalazide, and my GI doc's plan seems to be to alternate the Entocort with the balsalazide over the long term.
I hope you find a way to settle things down...it wears on a person to be in pain, or to be fatigued, over time.
