Nancy,
I had a problem with fish oil when I tried to increase to 2 capsules of 1000 mg each. It put me in a flare within a day or two of taking the increased dose; I felt like I had the flu. As soon as I quit taking them I calmed down. My eye dr recommended I try Mega-Red krill oil and I'm taking one in the morning and a regular fish oil capsule every night and have not had any problems with this dosage.

Newsflash!

Just read something interesting. Instead of taking fish oil we can drink wine! No Kidding! Foods with high polyplhenols (like wine, CHOCOLATE, berries) actually protect omega 3 fats from being oxidized/destroyed :pourdrink: . This has been proven in a test tube, so hopefully it is also true in the body.

Cheers! :drinking2:

Hugs,

Polly, maybe you should change your signature to the saying: "Life is too short to drink cheap wine!"

Well I sure couldn't stand the fish oil so WINE I guess has been keeping things good.

Polly - still cannot do the red wine but with a DIL that is a wine master she keeps me in good Pinit Grigio or Savaugin Blanc.

Love, Maggie

I just finished a bar of dark chocolate. Now I feel better about it!! I wish I could tolerate lots of red wine, but it just makes me loopy and puts me to sleep.

Thanks Polly!

I don't like red wine either, Reisling is my favorite. Do you think that will work as well? How many glassses a day do I need to drink to equal my dose of fish oil?

Nancy,

Reisling is my favorite wine as well. I had a little to much last night however, but it was still good. I know it is cheap but I can usually find Crane Lake Reisling for 4.49 or 4.99 a bottle and it is good.
