GOSH.....it's been a while!

Post by Mars »

Hi everyone!

It seems like it's been forever since I posted! Welcome to all the newbies.....boy there sure are a lot of them! Glad you found us!

Things are going along pretty good here. We bought my husband's grandparents home in January and have been busy renovating it........WOW - that's a job! It will probably take us about five years to do everything we want to do to it. This year, so far, has been the necessary jobs.....then saving over the winter for other things. Our next big step is having a new furnace installed. As many of you know, Ohio brings some cool weather about NOW! YIKES - nothing like procrastinating! LOL

My health has been pretty good....occassional flares, fighting a cold right now (the meds tend to cause some minor flaring but it's better than an expensive doctor's appointment and getting pneumonia!)

We have a new addition to our family....well, two actually! I have a new grandson, Kashten who was born in May! He is just a joy! He smiles ALL the time and is such a good baby!

Our other addition is a new puppy. Dory is a 7 month old Bloodhound we adopted from a shelter. She is spayed, obedience trained, microchipped and just a doll! Still having problems getting her to "alert" when she has to go outside... NOT a good thing! If you ask her and take her out she goes every time! GRRRR Needless to say, we have had some accidents! Still working on that one! We housetrained our other two bloodhounds with a cow bell that they ring when they need to go "outside". Tried it for the first time tonight and so far she thinks its a new toy lol. PATIENCE, says Margie!

I start work again tomorrow! Hard to believe that I've been off of work for almost two years! I'm excited but kind of wish I didn't have to work. Oh well.......life goes on LOL

Guess that's about all of my news..........I'll check in sooner next time!

P.S. Happy Birthday to all those I've missed!

Hi Mars,

It's good to see an update from you, and it's especially good to hear that your plans are working out, and you're making good progress on the renovation project. I'm glad that your health is generally, good, too, (except for that dang cold). I don't know if you've had any opportunities to read much about vitamin D on the board, but vitamin D is by far the cheapest and most effective way to prevent colds and flu viruses. It works, if you take enough of it to keep your resistance up, especially in the wintertime, when you can't get as much sun exposure.

Congratulations on the new job, and on the two new additions to the family. You certainly have been busy since you were here last.

Thanks for the update, and please try to log in more often.

Love,
Tex

Great to hear from you. Thanks for posting the pictures. Both babies are beautiful. Are you going back to work at the old place or something new? Good luck with the job - and the cowbell.

Hi Mars,

Great to hear from you and happy to hear you are doing relatively well - minus the cold. The pictures are gorgeous and congratulations on the new additions.

Love, Maggie
