Learning all the time..

Post by Lesley »

This is so helpful for me! I am learning so very much. Thanks for the scholarly medical articles. They will be very helpful for me in telling the docs that there is, indeed, research on diet being efficacious in management of this problem, and also to show me AND them how this all could have been misdiagnosed as lupus for all these years.

Management of the symptoms - I am trying to find out to what I am sensitive, apart from gluten, lactose and possibly casein.

FINALLY I managed a very small BM, but a long way to go. At least it isn't rampant diarrhea..yet.

The doc prescribed Lactulose for the C:

And from the above article I see that it is suggested to take it with Miralax, so thanks for that suggestion. If things don't move along soon I will try the combination.

As for the pediatric laxative suggested: It is only available in Australia, unfortunately.

I am just so grateful for all the help!

Sara,

When I went through a 2 year period of chronic sinusitis, I did a lot of reading about biofilms. They are fascinating, I think. My ENT doc said they are often responsible for recalcitrant sinus infections. One of the treatments I had was aerosolized antibiotics up the nose for hours at a time every day - for weeks. I'm not sure it had any effect on the biofilm, however, because I still needed surgery to mechanically clean out the sinus.

Hugs,

Polly
