I have lost about 7 pounds in the past 5 weeks or so, I think mostly because my appetite is not what it used to be, and the fact that I'm afraid to eat too much in case it doesn't settle well. I've read about several people who have lost a significant amount of weight, though.
My doc wants me to have a colonoscopy every 5 years. I have a friend who has one every 2 years.

I lost 6-7 pounds in approximately the first week, then slowly lost a few pounds more (about 12-13 pounds total), over about another month or two. I have now regained a few pounds, so my total weight loss is only 5-7 pounds. I was never truly underweight (nor overweight) by the official height/weight charts, so have been lucky just to be fluctuating within (hopefully) OK boundaries.
You are right, many folks here have lost significant weight and struggle to maintain or gain.

I lost 23 lbs. the first 7 months after starting a very limited diet by dropping gluten, dairy, yeast, sugar and then a host of other things. My weight stabilized last February, and has stayed pretty much the same since then. I'm 5'8" and weigh 121 lbs., so am underweight according to weight tables. However, I work out, so I have good muscle tone, and feel pretty strong and healthy. I think the reason I cannot seem to regain any of the weight, is that I don't eat any sugar and very little fat. I eat a very limited diet of almost exclusively unprocessed foods.
I'm supposed to have a colonoscopy every 5 years and have been diagnosed with MC (LC) twice. It's now 4 years since my last one, but I won't be in any hurry to have another one, as I'm feeling so much better with the diet changes.
Love,
Kari

At my worst point, I lost over 30 pounds, but part of that was due to not eating anything but jello, 7-Up, and water for a couple of weeks between tests, in order to not have to do another cleanout. Unfortunately, I was forced to do the cleanout, anyway.
Your colonoscopy schedule should depend on your cancer risk, not on your MC.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I lost over 20 lbs in about 6 weeks before being diagnosed. I have kept it off by being GF and avoiding breads and sweets. I do eat dairy and soy with no problems. And I've found that the simpler the meal and meal preparation, the better it is. I tend to avoid things made from recipes now and prefer fish and veggies, or just an assortment of veggies roasted on the grill.
And I agree with Tex on when a colonoscopy should be done: cancer risk, not mc.

I lost 6 lbs in three months after the MC hit, then lost another 10 in the year I adopted the GF/DF mostly SF diet. I'm now 5'4" and 118 lbs. Not underweight, but skinny high school weight, so I'm not complaining. The 10 lbs lost on the new diet are due to less food cravings and less food being consumed overall, especially less junk food. But I don't limit fats at all.

I lost 33 lbs. and have gained 9 lbs. back. I presently weigh 99-100 lbs. I would like to gain 10 more pounds, but I don't think I'll be able to until I can add more variety to my diet.
I had my last colonoscopy 4 years ago. My GI would love to do another one, but I'm resisting because I don't think it's necessary. I think 10 years between them is the routine when there's a low risk of cancer.

Initially when I developed CC I had lost about 10 pounds prior to diagnosis and then an addition 20+ pounds. I have been able to gain it back over the 10 years since diagnosis and now stay at my Weight Watcher's goal of 130.
