Abdominal pain?
I was researching something else on the forum, and I came across a post from Tex that stated the abdominal pain is not a normal symptom of MC, but indicates something else, like a food intolerance. The belly pain is a near-constant feature for me. Any thoughts?

Hi Cynthia,
It's true for some members here - they have virtually no abdominal pains associated with the MC at all. Most of us are more like you, though, because the gas and bloating and the cramps from food fermenting in our intestines, can get to be almost overwhelming at times. On top of all the body aches and pains, due to the leaky gut syndrome, there were many, many nights when I was lucky to get an hour's worth of sleep.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I'm so early in the process that I don't know, either. My pain used to be constant, and is intermittent now. I'm not sure if it will go away entirely over time or not. I know it showed up as a symptom before the diarrhea did (the belly pain drove me to the GI about a year before D did). But it could be scar tissue from 2 surgeries I had, so I just don't know.
Where is your pain? I have pain all over when I have bloating, but my near-constant pain is in a spot that I can point to in my upper left quadrant.

I have always had right lower abdomen pain. Sometimes sharp and sometimes achy. Before my diagnosis with CC, I had been checked for an appendicitis more times than I can count. Since going gluten free, I haven't had any of that pain.

strange potty behavior
My gut pain has been in the early hours of morning and it feels like food is fermenting in my stomach and beckoning me to get up and go potty.
It's like a burning gut ache low in my stomach. I'm going to try the suggestion to sleep on my left side. I always am on the right. I'll let you know if this helps.
Also, I seem to go a few days with okay stools and then after 3-4 days it's like the plug comes out and runny stools, then I'm okay for a few days again. It's a weird pattern and I don't mean to be gross but wondering am I alone with this strange potty behavior?

I had severe pain with Lymphocytic Duodenosis and Colitis
Pain has always been my number 1 symptom. I have been in hospital a number of times and almost had my gallbladder whipped out. I used to get lots of diarrhoea but now I get more pain, nausea, reflux and bloating. I've been totally gluten free since August and it has made a difference with the pain.

I'm hoping that those "good days" become more frequent as I go along! This week seems to be much better than last, probably because I'm staying away from some foods that were suspect. Funny how even the things you don't necessarily have a sensitivity to can turn you inside out when your system is already out of whack!

firstly soo cool to see your face! and secondly, yoda quote she has? mmmmmmm
i have been having cramping abdominal pains my whole life, as a teenager they were diagnosed as 'growing pains' as no blood test, ultrasound, xray could identify what the issue was.
Since the Dx and diet changes, they are occurring less often, and only make their appearance if i am poorly (generally physically exhaustion) the main area is the colon area on the lower right of my stomach. at their worst they were crippling, i could not move or walk and super painful like a contraction.
It is still a mystery why i react to some ingredients one way, and other ingredients differently.
and having a larger sized meal at a later time for dinner will cause issues
My body does not hesitate to let me know it didnt like it!

Re: strange potty behavior
I have the same plugged up feeling for a couple of days and then the plug comes out - and so does the diarrhea. Just went through it this week, matter of fact.coryhub wrote:My gut pain has been in the early hours of morning and it feels like food is fermenting in my stomach and beckoning me to get up and go potty.
