Post by Dee »

It's Apple Season Here, Can You Tell???????

10 granny smith apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
!/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup water
2-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Peel and dice apples.
Place apples in a crockpot.
Mix sugars and cinnamon in the water and pour over apples.
Cook on low 4-5 hours or until apples are soft.
Serve warm.
Great with DF/SF ice cream.

This is a great recipe. I take it to holiday dinners and serve with vanilla ice cream. Always a hit!

I am definitely making crockpot apples! I just made flourless peanut butter cookies with only 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup brown sugar (I cut with 1/2 c Stevia to 1/2 c brown sugar) 1 large egg. I doubled the recipe. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-13 minutes for the gooey kind, longer for crunchy. They don't look done when you take them out but let them cool and they're great.
