Unlike other treatments for osteoporosis that primarily reduce bone turnover, Teriparatide Acetate reduces bone turnover, stimulates the formation of new bone, and increases bone mass.

I wonder whether my doc would consider my parathyroid hormones worth reviewing, in our upcoming chat about my bone-density results. I had planned to pull out this list of tests as a counter-move to her likely proposing of Fosamax (nevernevernever gonna take that): http://www.womentowomen.com/understandy ... fault.aspx (it does include the parathyroid hormone test).
I wish I had not misplaced my recent bloodwork (hmm, could this messy desk be a symptom of MC) - I don't know whether it was checked as part of that panel. It would be interesting to track this over time.
