Hi Tex,
I want to educate my GI when I see him in a month and a half about MC and food sensitivities. I am so much better by avoiding my 4 food triggers and I want to know if you can recommend some Randomized controlled trial articles or other research (even a position paper would be nice) that I can give him. I do have access to a library here at my hospital and could get anything you recommend. Thank you.
Getting MD some RTC articles regarding MD and food sensitivi

I haven't had any luck finding such articles regarding the treatment of MC. In fact the only studies connected with dietary changes related to the treatment of IBDs that I'm aware of, were associated with the study of treatments for Crohn's and UC, and I don't recall any of them being based on random, controlled trials. Here's a link to an overview of some of those studies:

That article also includes a list of 50 references, if you need further details. Sorry I couldn't come up with any better data, but there doesn't seem to be any rigorous scientific studies out there, which is why I consider it to be so odd that so many doctors just assume that diet has nothing to do with MC.
Good luck with your project.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Most of his work was never published, (outside of the bismuth-subsalicylate treatment, and some research on genetic connections.

The talk he gave in 2003 pretty well sums up his approach to testing and treatment, but it concentrates on gluten-sensitivity. This is probably some of the earliest work describing non-celiac gluten-sensitivity, though.

Other than that, his discussion about MC on his website is the only place that I'm aware of, where he spells out his treatment for MC.
