Question about my 5 year old daughter colonoscopy results
My 5 year old has been suffering from bouts of D off and on her entire life since birth. And after the D clears up her stool would be pale white. They just did an upper and lower on her, the two things they did find is that she is low in the enzymes that break down lactose, and also starch. I have cc, so I am wondering if this could be some precursor to the disease that maybe I can stop before it starts.
Hi Crustal,
The lactase deficiency is almost certainly due to the enteritis, (inflammation), in her intestines. Did they take any biopsy samples? It sure sounds as though your daughter might indeed have MC, or some issue that can lead to MC, as you mentioned.
Good luck with this, and please keep us updated.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
