I meant, not necessarily specific to the cramping, but general questions about mc!

 Honestly, there's not much your GI doc is likely to be able to tell you about the disease, except that there's no cure and its benign. Most doctors know very, very little about this disease. You can ask about the various treatment options that are available, but you probably already know what they are.

Sorry, I'm not much help - my GI doc was never able to correctly answer any of the questions that I asked him about my condition, so I probably have a biased outlook.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tex,
The minute mucous-y BM I had yesterday did not relieve the pressure I have at all.
Today it is worse. I don't want to take anything that will trigger the MC and D to relieve the pressure a bit, but the C is killing me now. I don't know if the stools are formed. I am bloated and gassy, but not gurgley, I think the Norco is causing the C and stopping everything except the bloating and the gas. OTOH I don't want to trigger D if, finally the diet is quieting everything down and I am starting to heal.

I ALSO get a pain on the left side groin area. I don't have diverticulitis. Add it to the list of symptoms I have in common with others.

I agree that the Norco is probably contributing to the C. As I'm sure you're aware, the body develops an increasing tolerance for narcotic painkillers, so that it takes a higher dosage to achieve the same results, as time passes. That's probably why the pain seems worse, but increasing the dosage probably wouldn't be good for the C, so you're between a rock and a hard place. Did you ever ask your doc if he/she had any suggestions on that? If it's actually C, a stool softener might help, but I hate to start recommending meds to counteract the side effects of other meds, (since that's what a doctor would do, and I'd rather not fall into that trap).

That LL side pain could possibly be a sign of proctitis, which is associated with autoimmune issues, or it can be caused by certain meds, among other things, (it also fits most of your other symptoms, including cramps, mucus, etc., but that doesn't mean that you have it). It would have shown up if you had a recent sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy.

Yeah, I have both. And I just got back from getting my test results. I have to load the disk and find the colonoscopy to see what the results were.
