Life is just full of surprizes and then there was a skunk

Post by Wendy »

Well I went downtown to meet up with my oldest daughter Amanda to go and get our hair done, and all went well. I was feeling pretty good about the way my hair looked as I have not splurged on my hair is eons. And we ended the day before each of us were overtired, all was well with the world, THEN just as I was watching Canadian Idol I decided before the big finale I would take her out for a pee. No sooner had I opened the door when she took off around the corner of my building where the big garbage bin is, and she started barking. At first I didn't know what, usually she see's something under the gate like a squirrel, which would have been nice. Then the motion lights came on and she had a skunk corned in beside the garbage bin, so you can imagine what happened, the skunk was scared crapless, and I started yelling NO, NO, NO Pebbles, she looked at me and the skunk took off under the gate. I thought whew, she didn't get sprayed. I was shaking, because I don't know why I thought running over to rescue Pebbles could have prevented anything, but I did, and was thanking GOD that all was okay. I even knocked on the landlords door and asked Wayne if he could smell anything and he couldn't either, so I went inside my place. Since this was my first time I didn't realize that it takes a bit for it to permeate, that's when Pebbles started to rub her face into her dog bed like crazy, and the smell started. I have never smelt anything that bad in my life, and there was no getting away from it. AWFUL! I also knew I didn't have any tomatoe juice or if I did it was a small can, so once again I knocked on Wayne's door with my nose plugged, and by then he could also tell we had not gotten away with the skunk encounter. He had no juice, so I put Pebbles in the tub and I had tomatoe paste and tomatoe soup ready to use besides my one little can, afterall she is a little dog. It was really funny though when I started to pour the tomatoe juice on the poor little tyke, that's when I got a knock on my door and Wayne had ran out to the store and brought me two big cans, opened one for me and left, plugging his nose and yelling 'Good Luck' as he left laughing. I should have taken a picture as it looked like I was cutting up a body rather then dousing my dog with tomatoe juice! And through it all I just felt like I was going to :vomit: otherwise known as HURL CHUNKS. Thing is after my day out I came home and had just bathed her and cleaned the tub and all that, and because of her hair I have to blow dry her hair. Not such a big deal, but with having the fibro too it just threw me over my limits for the day. I feel it very much today. I also still have a low grade fever, so none of this helps. Blah, blah, blah, whine, whine, whine. LOL

The other thing about my daughter Amanda and me quiting early so as not to tire us is that well for me you who know me, know that it takes very little to set my back, but for a young 26 yr old whatever could be her reasons for tiring easy, and taking it easy???? Yup she is pregnant once again, about 6 weeks, but since her last pregnancy ended at 7 weeks we are a bit on pins and needles right now. Hence the reason for me not making a huge announcement. She is having bloodwork today, and seeing her NEW doctor, and an ultrasound tomorrow morning. The problems she is having is also to do with her POCD, not having the right hormones for sustaining her pregnancy. This week should tell us what we need to know. The one thing is that she feels allot different this time, she is always getting nauseated, allot of morning sickness. With her having blood sugar problems to do with the POCD, she has to really watch her eating and to have the proper balances all the time. Fortunately she is very informed on nutrition. Now it is just wait and see, right now I am just worried about her. Since I have been there I know just how hard this is to live through. Hence my second daughter's name being Melanie Nathania. Nathania meaning gift from GOD, had a really hard pregnancy and an early delivery. As an adult she goes by Nathania, which would have been her first name if I hadn't bent to others rejections of the name. So all I can do is offer allot of support. Maybe a few prayers for her would help too? Everyone want to add her to you list? Thanks

And now it is again time for me to go rest.

Oh, WOW, Wendy!! What an experience!! Did you have to throw away the dog bed??

It could be just the pregnancy that is making your daughter tired but I don't think you said how long it has been going on (the tiredness). I do hope she will be able to carry the child this time.

I don't know what to answer first. The stinky Pebbles. How RUDE of her!! Did you get the smell out? Is she mad at you? Are you ok?

OK, we will keep this low key about the baby. Just pray and pray and pray for Amanda and her gift from God.

Lots of love,

Grams

Wow, what a night! I've been lucky with the cats a few times...gone to whistle for them and then seen the skunk between me and them. Haven't seen any up here where I am currently living though. But down in the burbs, I would smell the faint odor of them being around often at night, and would see them from time to time.

I will be thinking about your daughter. Each pregnancy IS different, and the ones that don't make it are God's way of taking care of mistakes that shouldn't go any further. I wish her all the best this time around.

WOW - what an experience - poor pebbles

Your post made me laugh out loud - good thing I wasn't taking a drink at the time, I would have drowned my computer! heehee

I'll add Amanda to my prayers. I hope this time, everything will be fine and you will both be blessed with the happiness of a new little one.

Take care of yourself!

Hugz,
Margie
