Yeast?

Post by Lesley »

If my results didn't say I am sensitive to YEAST, can I have it?

This has yeast. It's says it an be made without eggs, but I can't find the recipe.

I can get the flour and bake my own, but again, the recipes call for yeast and eggs.

I would have to call them to find out how to make the bread without eggs.
Not being able to have eggs, corn OR rice is really limiting.

I am sure my illness is medication induced, but I have been on them for SO long should I understand that the MC won't go away even if I manage to get off them (which, given the side effects, is unlikely very quickly)?

You didn't test for yeast, (unless I missed it). Since all your other tests were positive, the odds are pretty high that you would also test positive for yeast. Yeast is usually not a permanent sensitivity, and most members here are able to eat it after they reach remission, (but not necessarily while they are still reacting).

Anna makes a mix without yeast.

But the chickpeas and beans may be a problem for you since you are sensitive to soy. Also, some of us are sensitive to tapioca.

That's tough to say - the long exposure appears to have triggered food-sensitivity genes, so just stopping the meds probably won't be enough, by itself, at this point.

I found that avoiding corn was tougher than anything else - it's in almost everything. The only safe commercial drink that I could find, for example, was Virgil's Root Beer - everything else either contained some version of corn syrup, or an artificial sweetener.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I'm not into commercial drinks, so I didn't even look. I prefer water, and have been getting water with electrolytes from TJs.
I LOVE popcorn but that's out.

I looked at the Anna's mixes, but, although there is one that hits ALMOST everything, you have to use eggs to make it. It's expensive, so just getting it to try to substitute something is not a good option.

I really want to get off the meds, but getting off prednisone, going cold turkey on PPIs and trying to find what I can and can't eat is as much as I can cope with right now. I can't take on more now.
