Sunday Afternoon

Post by kate_ce1995 »

Well, we are supposed to be having a b-day part for Erin up here right now, but Geoff brother stopped by his parent's house to help get his mom in the car (she is doing MUCH better, but with a broken leg and a broken arm its pretty hard), and then called us because his Dad is having a dizzy spell. So now here I sit by the phone. I suspect its a low blood sugar event, but I don't know. On the way out, Geoff just said "he has these".

But speaking of our 6-year-old (as of Tuesday), she is sleeping in her own room consistantly now that school has started, and she seems to be really taking to school, absorbing everthing the teacher says. She even knew the word crysalis (Which I'm sure I just spelled wrong). The last week or two, I've been a bit worried about Tigger because he hasn't been sleeping on my bed. Well last night Geoff got up in the night and looked in on Erin while he was up. Tigs wandered into her room, made his rounds of the corners and then jumped up on her desk and watched her sleep. So we think he is probably sleeping with her and/or in there to keep an eye on her. She is after all the smallest in his family (not counting the Rat Pack kittens who he wants nothing to do with).

Well, I'd best get a snack because it could be a while until lunch. And do some more reading for my class I'm taking while I wait.

Hiya Katy-----I hope your party proceeds and a good time is had by all

That has to be such a sweet sight to see Tig---keeping an EYE on Erin--

Our animals were used to their particular sleeping spots and it was fun--

Have a super day--

Hi Katy...I wouldn't worry too much about Tigs...animals usually pick thier places to sleep. And they often protect and check on the youngest of our families. Animals just sense where they need to be. Love Oma

Yup, party went forth. Geoff's dad's sugar level was 63! WAY low. But after a glucose tab, some juice and a ham sandwich he was feeling much better and was too high, but by later in the afternoon he was back into the 110-120 range. He is not terribly good about watching his levels. Thinks the insulin is all he needs. And now that Geoff's mom can't get meals for them, he probably isn't eating all that well. Geoff's scared because he was worse about checking his levels right before his strokes, and then again last winter before he landed in the hospital with bronchitis and possible kidney issues. He did just have a routine checkup though last week and got a clean bill of health (as good as he can get anyway).

Erin enjoyed her party. Tigs slept with me last night because Erin slept in Kayla;s room because they decided it was a "special" night. Plus they were wound up from the party. He was very talkative when he came to bed last night though, so I think he was concerned that she wasn't in her room. Either that or he had caught the biggest mouse ever and wanted to tell me about it.
