Norman paid me a visit today!

Post by Wren »

Hello friends,

Even though I had ‘cut back’ on bread products previously (I don’t even remember what a donut tastes like.), on October 29th of this year I began a serious GF/DF diet. I keep a food diary and log everything I eat each day. No cheating. (I have always suspected a dairy sensitivity. I have never liked milk (even as a child) and always feel just a bit ‘off’ whenever I eat anything heavy in dairy.)

As I stated in my forum intro note, I began to feel better -- really, really better—after the first week. This morning I was just going about my ‘business’, and B’osh and Begorrah, there was Norman! After 6 months of ugh!, I am pretty thrilled. I hope Norman hangs around for a long while.

I trust (fingers crossed) this event also clears most of the foods I have been eating as mainly ‘safe’ for me. The list is: pork chops (fat trimmed), potatoes boiled and/or sautéed in a bit of olive oil, rice cakes, natural peanut butter, homemade slow cooker apples (Thanks, Dee!), Applegate chicken sausages (their bacon was too fatty for me, even crisp), green and yellow beans, carrots (Yay, because I love them), home roasted chicken, eggs (a biggie score on that one!), acorn squash and thanks to the heavens above, those Cape Cod original potato chips! LOL!!

I am going to stay on only these foods for another week and, if all remains stable, I may foray into some new fare. Any suggestions as to what I may attempt to introduce next would be welcome and most appreciated...

Yipee! :cheerleader:
Hugs, Wren

Wahoo! That's great news. If it were me, I would venture into trying more vegetables. Well-steamed broccoli, sweet potatoes, things in season. What about bananas?

Thanks, Zizzle!

Mmmmm...sweet potato! I may try that next. I tried bananas but I think I'll wait for some more healing to take place before i try them again. Maybe if I really mushed them up...
