Paging Shirley!

Post by Polly »

Hi Shirley!

Just wondering how the diet is coming along? It's update time! Are you feeling any better yet? Is it any easier to stick to the diet?

Love,

Nosy Polly

 I think I am doing just great on the diet. Physically, mentally and every other way. I don't know why I waited so long to jump in but I suppose if my mental attitude had been different I would have failed.

I have started a "journal" here so I'll spare you all the details. They will be in my journal. I don't post in it every day. I'll probably try to update it every 2 - 3 weeks. I'm very positive about it and heaven help others if I get on my "soapbox" about it. :yikes:

I've got my sister interested - hope she will become more so and I'm so hoping to get my Mom on it after I get her to Florida. That would be a wonderful accomplishment and incentive for me also to set a good example. LOL

I'm really pleased with the results so far. Read my journal.

WOW!

I just read your journal and am I impressed!!!!! Amazing progress in such a short time. Especially the lower medication doses. Watch out, or you'll become a diet zealot like others have! LOL!

Just be careful of supplements......as you know, many of us can't tolerate them. If you start to have any problems, I'd suggest cutting out the enzymes. Remember, enzymes are PROTEINS, which are the main problems for those of us with MC and hyperactive immune systems. But you may do just fine.

Keep up the good work! You are an inspiration!

Love,

Polly

Thanks Polly,

I seem to be doing OK on the enzymes so far. Yesterday my stools started being softer but I don't know if it's from the enzymes or from some pitted dates I've been eating. I'm out of them now (couldn't leave them alone) so I should know soon.

I won't take the enzymes forever. I'm only taking them because of my supposedly impaired stomach function due to the Nexium, etc.

I'm supposed to take 1-2 bottles. Stop for a while and see how I feel. If all is A-OK then stop for good.

It may be to late for me as I may have already become a Zealot!!!

I say WooHoo Joanna and Polly and Karen and Jean and Tex and everyone I haven't mentioned.

You know, Joanna, the main purpose for going on this diet was health related BUT the weight loss you have had may have given me the last "shove" that I needed to jump in.

Thanks

Morning Shirley,

I just read your journal. I am very happy for you - you've taken a big step into the unknown and look at what is happening
I may be naive but I think your body is going to thank you for giving up on some of the meds and replacing them with good choices to your diet instead. Please use good sense and don't go any faster than you feel is safe -

I am so proud of you!!

Love,
Karen
