why I haven't been here

Hi everyone,

I've been dealing with my dad who fell twice last week and broke his neck - C2. He's in the hospital - hope to get him out to a rehab place on Wednesday. Don't know what's in store for him as he's very old and frail.
He's in a lot of pain when he moves his head. That's my main concern right now - that he be comfortable, if nothing else. He's in a collar brace.

Oh Alice - I am sorry about your dad. I hope you are able to find a good rehab place for him and he coninues to mend.

We all know how stress plays havoc on your body so remember to take care of yourself!

I agree with Mars take care of you as well.....so that you can take care of your Dad...I am so sorry that he fell and broke his neck. That has got to be painful for him.. I will put him in my prayers tonight. Love Oma

Wow, that is just AWFUL. I think it's incredible that both he and Peg have similar injuries from a fall. What's going on here!!

I sure hope they will find a way to keep your Dad comfortable. I'm so sorry.

I am sorry to hear about your dad. Darn it anyway! I agree, you need to make sure you have some time for yourself. Your a wonderful daughter to take such good care of dad!

Your poor dad! How is he coping? Does he understand what happened to him? I hope all goes smoothly with recovery.

Hi Alice,

I am so very sorry to hear about your dad's fall and I do hope he can be made comfortable. To be old and frail and have extra pain on top of it is just not fair at all.

Please take care of yourself too. You have done such a wonderful job with your parents and you and Bruce have been so giving and caring that you just have to understand that you have done your absolute best.
