The C is driving me crazy. Over the past weeks 2 BMs. That's all!
I am SO bloated. I get gurgles, but nothing happens.

I am taking 6 mgs of entocort daily, but I am also taking stool softeners, MOM, eating prunes, I even ate popcorn today, trying everything I can without triggering massive D. I might not have a choice. It goes on and on and on....

I'm sorry you are struggling with this so much, Lesley, I don't know what else to add but my empathy for your situation. I never did the entocort route, so I don't know what part that may play, if any, in your C. Wouldn't want to wish D on anyone, but at this point.......anything might be welcome.....

Just sending you love and understanding. You will get better.

I don't know much about Entocort, but have you tried cutting down on the dose? Are you taking in LOTS of fluids? Coffee to stimulate things?

I hope things get moving soon!

Drinking tons. Thank heavens for TJs electrolyte enriched water! My sodium was OK at the last blood test.

I am having one cup of coffee in the am. Otherwise the GERD gets worse. As it is I am consuming pounds of sugar in rock candy form to keep it under control. Coffee never helped me.

I was trying to get the inflammation under control with the entocort. But the bloody stuff constipates, and my MC is of the constipated persuasion, unless I eat something like turkey, or duck....
Maybe I should eat some? Maybe it will help?

Thanks for the love! I really appreciate it.

Morning Lesley,

So sorry to hear that the C will just not go away. I have no idea what to say other than I really feel for you. Never have had a problem like this.

Love, Maggie

Leslie,
I sure hope the dam bursts pretty soon for you. This has just gone on too long. My heart goes out to you.
I took Entocort for 7 months, in the process of weaning off now. It never gave me C, but of course everyone is different.

I'm so sorry, Lesley - I keep thinking that you'll get to move on to the next chapter, but the MC beast is just so unfair.

Thinking of you,

Thank you everybody!
After taking a veritable bomb cocktail last night I FINALLY got moving, and it was more like Norman than I have had in MONTHS, no mucous, but there was some undigested food!
I can feel that there is still a ton in there that needs to come out. Hopefully I can keep going without really bombing myself into D.

This is truly a PITB!!!

Thanks Sharaine!

It most certainly isn't. I am so, so glad I found this forum. I would have been totally lost without you all.

That sounds like Entocort is working, and that's good news. Also, I believe you reported elsewhere that you're in a little less pain because of Entocort. I've noticed that you've been a little calmer in your recent postings, probably because you're not in as much pain. You are progressing.

It seems that with or without Entocort, you have constipation. Hopefully the Entocort is taking care of the diarrhea. I hope that once you get the diarrhea under control by using a combination of Entocort and diet, you'll be able to reduce your dosage of Entocort and begin to alleviate the constipation without triggering diarrhea. Hang in there - if you saw a near Norman, you are getting better.

Thanks Gloria. That came just in time because I am feeling rotten tonight. I needed to be reminded that things can, and will, get better.

I'm going to a new doc tomorrow. Hoping he will be better than the last one. Prepared to listen and to look at the Enterolab results. I wish I had done the genetic testing, but maybe he will believe me.

HI Lesley, You may have met with the Doc already, and I would be curious if he made a change in your entocort. Mine said straight away when I started it that if I started having chronic C it was time to wean down the dose. Maybe you are ready to go to 3mg? Hope things are better! I think I saw from different post that your enterolab results showed lots of food intolerances. I just got mine today, and we are in the same boat!

Hi Lesley,

My MC also tends toward C more than D and I have found MiraLax to be very good at providing relief. It mixes well in water and I usually add a bit of juice or hot tea and drink it down. It works on the stool itself and usually provides a norman within 6-8 hours. It's perfect for taking at night for a BM in the AM. The generic versions work as well as the name brand, but cost considerably less.

Wishing you relief and regularity!

Hi Fish and Katie,

The reason I am taking the entocort is because of the continued symptoms of inflammation. Right now I am flaring again (food reaction) so I won't reduce the entocort until the symptoms of it subside some.
Problem is I don't think I have had any real healing yet. I haven't felt better for months. If I am not having fire hose D I have concrete C which will not move until some food disagrees and causes relief on the one hand, but brings other problems on the other.

I have Miralax. I decided to try the brand name to start with because I have to eliminate ingredients if anything upsets me.

Both extremes are difficult. I really appreciate your input.
