Flax seed..
Even in the tiniest quantity - NO GOOD!
I made a wonderful banana bread this morning (Hannukah tonight. Adam and a couple of friends coming over.). I used ground flax seed as the egg replacement. Uh oh! Gurgles, stomach ache. No BM, more's the pity, but I;m not a happy camper.
I have to make latkes.
Happy Hanukkah however you spell it!

The banana bread went home with a friend. Truth is, C is well and truly entrenched, so I am not even sure it was the flax seed. It might just be C giving me belly aches. It is hard to figure it out.
I used to put toasted flax seed in my cereal, and into potatoes. I used it everywhere. That and sesame seed. I loved them!

Martha, I tried flax a while back - nothing disastrous, but it definitely nudged me in a direction I wasn't planning to head, briefly. I will let you know how the blackstrap molasses adventures turn out...
Lesley, I think your conclusion that you can't make a certain conclusion is smart - along with the thought that "no need to try that again this week!" I guess we can call that a "conclusion for now." I've reached a lot of those, and some of them I'm sure are keepers (like my no-grains approach), and others I will no doubt re-attempt down the road.
Have you ever had acupuncture? A dear friend's wife does acupuncture in Pacific Palisades - if that's remotely accessible to you, and you're interested, let me know, and I'll try to find out what she knows about MC, gluten sensitivity, and digestion in general. I have mixed feelings about TCM, but have loved acupuncture in the past, and I also like that they don't treat everyone's "IBS" the same way, but take a more nuanced approached (based, believe it or not, on the patient!)

Yeah, there are lots of those. Especially since I don't seem to get on the healing track. I seem to go back to square 1 pretty often."conclusion for now."
I have tried acupuncture for my back. Not for MC. Unfortunately it did not help at all. I spent a fortune, but got no relief. I wish my health care plan would cover trying acupuncture for MC. I can't afford everything. Food seems to be costing me a lot, and I want to do the MRT testing when the time is right.
I made meat muffins today. I used beef and lamb, added my beef broth, grated carrots, zucchini and onions. I seasoned with cumin, turmeric and a little cinnamon. I wanted them to come out softer and more tender, not so much like meat bullets. They did, and are great.
I just wish I felt better!
