To All of My Family here at PP,

Post by Robin »

Sorry I haven't been here a lot lately. I miss you all! With Christmas right around the corner it been very hard finding time to get on here.

If anyone knows the Italian tradition for Christmas Eve they will understand. I am having 22 people for Christmas Eve dinner and 16 for Christmas day. On Christmas Eve its all about the 7 fishes and its a lot of working cleaning all of it (thank god for my sons). On Christmas day its all about eating ALL DAY LONG! I am making some of the traditional foods but because its in MY house I am making A LOT of "Robins" safe foods! So I really cant wait to see how everyone reacts to the changes!

I want to wish you ALL a VERY HAPPY and HEALTH HOLIDAY! All of you have meant the world to me and gave me a life that I never thought was possible. All of our lives are very precious and so many non PP take it for granted. You only live once!

With All My Love
Robin

Merry Christmas!

We're doing a low-key version of Polish Christmas Eve here - it will be fish, but not traditional Polish carp (because my husband hates it, and it's his tradition, after all!). My family will be here from Sweden, and though I keep saying "low key" we're up to about 8 or 10 people, and that kitchen seems not to be cleaning itself.

I'm doing a reprise of the no-flour fishcakes I did at Thanksgiving, this time with smoked trout. I hope to try them in the waffle iron (hm, better make extra and test-drive that idea!). We even sprang for a little caviar (!)... Also the now-infamous cranberry sorbet, a fish soup of my husband's creativity, and some baked apple thing, and I will cut out tiny shapes from beet slices for the salad, because "too much is never enough" once I get started down this road... I'll be thinking of you, and like you, rejoicing to find myself where I am at this time of year - stronger, healthier, and greatly optimistic!

I won't keep you - I know you're busy!

Love,
Sara

Wow, Robin - you have a busy weekend coming up! I hope that you're able to fully enjoy each and every minute of it.

Hope you have a wonderful MC safe celebration robin.

two of my closest friends are italian - Pre MC, i was part of many many of their get togethers (feasts) over the past 12 years. one of which was an 8 course all day thing! with loads of dancing.
'munja munja'
meals that included every type of protein, vegetable, salad. and endless cakes, pastries etc.
one of the girls, Maria (who is also a naturopath and has been an amazing angel to help me adjust to life with MC) also follows a GF/LF eating plan, mid next week we are all getting together to have a gabe safe xmas celebration.

I hope they enjoy your creations and support your adjusted eating plan

take care
xo
