That's a new one for me, I've never had anyone tell me my breath was bad, other than my husband when he's feeling frisky when I wake up, and I think that's fairly normal  , if there is a normal for anything.

I do know someone who had legendary halitosis and certainly wasn't someone who couldn't afford dental care and those of us who worked for him were all a bit mystified by why he didn't deal with it, or even seem to know he had a problem. I ran into him awhile back which was some years after he'd sold his interest in the production company I freelance for, and after my dx/w/MC. and he told me he had Crohn's. So, I don't know......would make sense that if we're not digesting foods properly that we're either farting or have bad breath.

Maybe I just work with polite people who don't want to hurt my feelings.
Resolved MC symptoms successfully w/L-Glutamine, Probiotics and Vitamins, GF since 8/'09. DX w/MC 10/'09.

I think just some diets alone can cause bad breath. I noticed a difference when I started eating low carb.
Here's some info:

Well, pre diet changes to manage my MC, I always chewed gum because I was afraid of having "bad breath". I know I always had horrific "morning breath" - not only did my husband tell me so, but it felt simply awful to me as well. I used to jokingly say that a skunk slept in my mouth at night:).

I can honestly say that my morning breath has gotten a lot better after the diet changes. Also, my tongue is no longer covered with a white "carpet":).

Love,
Kari

what I do to keep my breath fresh besides very good dental care is brushing the plague of my tongue every evening, especially the rear part of the tongue almost in your throat. I once read that this was quite often the cause of bad breath (beside dental care)

dehydration and dry mouth can cause bad breath. It is not a far reach to believe that MC could play a role.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
