I still have regular flour in my kitchen and still make special birthday cakes, etc. for the family. I put the flour bag in another plastic bag for storage. When I measure it I do it over the sink so I can easily wash it down. The biggest issue I have is with my mixer and keeping the flour contained in that as well as the clean up afterward. So far I haven't had any noticeable reactions. :xfingers: I don't do it regularly.

You should be OK, because you're well aware of the risks, and you take precautions. Most people aren't that aware, (so they aren't that careful), when handling or mixing flour.

Hi Tex,

Man, that was a long flare. Here's to hoping that you won't experience that again.

Hi Rich,

Well, we probably need a reminder about every 5 to 10 years, to make us appreciate how good we have it when everything is going smoothly.

I hope you're feeling well these days.

So glad to hear it has passed Tex. I think we both have had our share of flares during the years.

Love, Maggie

Tex, totally agree with your thoughts about the holidays; I have dreaded them the last three years. Sad, but I find myself now and then watching cooking shows and then I just want to slap myself :duh:. My social life has diminished to "coffee hour" with my friends (which I really look forward to) in the morning. Group dinners, my hubby goes without me at my pushing............I would rather be happy at the house then have an anxiety attack wondering what is in the food (or spend 3 hours drinking water) and am tired of taking "cold" food.

I would hope that you would not have to be "reminded" of this disease. So here is to your future with no more flares! :drinking2: (this one just tickled my funny bone)

Thanks, Maggie and Ginny,

I agree - I'm pretty sure that by now I can remember what will happen if I slip up, without the need for any more ugly reminders.
