I talked with Lou This Afternoon

Post by tex »

Hi All,

I called Barbara this afternoon. to try to resolve the posting dilema that she has been having, and when she answered the phone, I asked "Mrs. Columbo?". To which she responded "Waaaaynnnne". Apparently Lou was walking by, and asked "Who's Mrs. Columbo?". Barbara said "That's me". LOL.

Anyway, she handed him the phone, so I got to talk with him for a couple of minutes. He sounded good, but was tired from overdoing it on a long walk that they had taken. He's just as nice as she is, and it made my day to be able to talk with both of them.

Barbara said to tell everyone on the board that she still has a few more days of serious nursing duties, before she can afford to sit down and do some serious catching-up on the board, but I believe that we resolved the posting problem that she's been having. Also, something happened to her computer, and she lost all her e-mails on it, so I re-sent her the link that she needs when she's ready to log on.

Next week may be a tough one also, as far as her time is concerned, since Lou has to see all his doctors then. Apparently, one reason why she doesn't have much time to spare is because the phone keeps ringing all day long. That's why I've been so reluctant to call her, but I was afraid that if I didn't, it might be weeks before we ever saw her posting in this forum. Hopefully it will be soon.

Love,
Tex

 I'm so glad you got through to her, Wayne. I can't wait 'till she has time to get on and post regularly.

Hi Shirley,

Yeah, she wasn't kiddin' about the phone ringing all the time--I had to make a bunch of attempts before I finally got the call to go through. She's one busy lady.

Tex

Hahahahaha. I don't understand why you think I have an accent. I've never lived anywhere else where I might have picked up something like that. But, yes, I do love their accents, (and your's too).

Love.

Thanks for the update Tex. I'm sure your accent was a welcome addition to their hectic day!

Peg, that was funny how you are able to spell the words so you can literally hear the Nu Yawk axcents. LOVED it!!

Your avatar is adorable; but the picture is so small I can't quite see your face and I am VERY curious about the green leg. I keep clicking on the image to see if it gets larger when I do that but no, it doesn't zoom. I am looking forward to a more in detail description and/or some close-ups.

Hey Karen. You could try saving the picture onto your computer and blow it up/zoom in on it. I think you press the right click with the arrow on the picture and it'll say "save as". Then save it to whatever photo program you have. I didn't realize she had pigtails like pipi longstocking until someone had mentioned it. HA She looks cute.

Much love
Arlene

Yes, you can download the image and enlarge it, but the problem is that the file size on these avatars has to be so small, in order to keep from bogging down the response time of the board, that the quality is so poor in an enlargement, that it doesn't offer much advantage. They are only 80 x 80 pixels, or less, which is a very small image file. A decent image file needs to be at least 10 times as large, and a high quality file would need to be at least 100 times as large, preferably 1000 times as large.

After we get a little farther along, we should be able to have some pages linked to this board, where we can post good quality pictures.

How nice of you to call and help Barb find her way here.
