Hubby and Rita
Ok...I thought I had better update everyone...Mike has gone to College Station/ Bryan Area. Tex would know where that is. It's not Houston but closer to Rita than I like. He and a helper have gone there to get this generator ready for after Rita passes thru. Then he and helper will go in and hook it up for Verizon. He tells me on the phone at work where he is going. This Morning before we both left for work he packed his clothes and said "just in case" Well "Just in case" happened. He tells me on the phone that he was calling to put my mind at ease by telling me he wasn't going to Houston...Duh! He'a still too close for comfort. So there went My Ease of Mind. My son said College station was about 100 mi from the Texas coast...is that right Tex??? I am terrible on directions....I could get lost in a paper sack with signs and holes cut in it. So...I have no clue how long he'll be there and if he goes to Houston after Rita passes, how long he'll be there. I really hate the thought of him being there in what could be a total mess and devestation. I hope Tex is Ok....We lost power awhile ago....but it was an electric company problem. I just lit candles and talked to the Furr babies. It's back on. Wierd tho...I had poer to the barn. Hubby said it sounded like they lost a phase. Anyway...I am praying for everyone near Rita and My Hubby. We had alot of Evacuee's in pour store today...all the Surrounding Motels are Full to the brim. I am just praying that More people are ok than hurt. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
Hi Oma,
Sorry I'm so late responding to your post. I had a meeting tonight, and I just got back.
Right, the Bryan/College Station complex is about 100 miles inland. They may have some rain there, but the weather shouldn't be very bad there--a much better place to be than Houston.
The traffice is unbelievable here--lots of evacuees checking in, in surrounding towns, and countless convoys of them, passing through, going North, and West.
Love,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
