Oma with candles....no power

Post by annie oakley »

Buckmaster, Jasmine and I were watching T.V. last night....I was doing the crochet stuff and right in the middle of a real good spot in the Movie the power shuts off. SO I go and check the Barn....there's power to the barn and freezer and Icebox out there. It started to get a littlr warm so I grabed some tools and headed to the main on the power pole. Finally got the door to the box open and checked the breakers. all the breakers were fine. All The breakers in the trailer were fine. I was about 5 feet from the fence and felt as if someone was wathing me. There was...a big black cow. Buckmaster was barking like he was postal. Jasmine barks because Buck barks. ANyway Called and the power company was working on it. It was about an hour and it came back on. I had every candle in the house lit. As bad as the knee's are I didn't want to fall over doggie toys that Buck has strewn all over the house. I had 10 candles lit and all the windows open. It was fun. Took My Mind of Mike for a while. Love Oma

 Oma, you certainly do have some entertaining stories. I bet it DID get hot though. So glad they got it fixed quickly. Good thing it wasn't me out there. I might have had some beef for the freezer.

Have you heard from Mike since he left?

Sound like us here in summer Oma when we get our storms. We often lose power, sometimes for hours, some places for day or so, depending on the severity of the storm. We call it 'atmosphere' pretend we are dining in a classy resturant

Glad you had plenty of candles on hand.Couldn't have you falling over anything.

Love

Miss BN, I thought she was going to tell us she climbed the pole, too!!!

Oma, out there in the dark with a cow stalking you. How scary for a minute and then you must have laughed your head off. I bet she was laughing at you, too.

Life is always an adventure for you.

Stay safe, huh? No pole climbing.

Love, Sally

Hi Oma,

I'm glad they got it going reasonably soon. A few nights ago, we had a large area out of power for several hours, when a guy wire snapped on one of the main supply lines of the Brazos River Authority. One candle was all I could find, so I gave up and went to bed. LOL.

The power has blinked off a couple of times here today, for just a second, but other than that, so far, so good. Some of the lines may get tested out a little better tomorrow, when the storm gets closer. Our power comes from southeast of here, so they have a higher risk of damage, than here locally.

Love,
Wayne

Gosh Oma! I'm glad you are self-sufficient! I guess living out in the wild makes one so! LOL I was also afraid you had to climb the pole! LOL

Glad you made the most out of the inconvenience and all turned out well.
