Gluten free
Hi everyone just and update. I have been gluten free for about 3 weeks now. I haven't noticed much difference in the number of bathroom trips, but the swelling in my stomach seems to be a little better. My doctor at Mayo found something called intussecption in my intestine last year. I am having pain where my gallbladder should be ( removed last year). Around the same time the pain has started I feel light headed and start having nausea and vomiting. I have done this about 4 different times. Once I vomit the pain doesn't go away, but the nausea gets better. Has anyone else experienced this? I would appreciate any feed back. Thanks!
Hi,
Yes, I frequently had nausea and sometimes vomiting while I was reacting, but there is a good chance that yours may be associated with your intussusception.
An intussusception can be a very serious condition. Was yours treated? If not, it may need to be treated now, and if it was, it sounds as though it may have returned. You may need to have it checked out, because prolonged intussusception increases the chances of intestinal ischemia and possibly necrosis, which could require surgical resection in order to repair the damage.

Thanks Tex. I am worried because I am still light headed along with the nausea. I called my doctor. I have an appt next Tues. I am still having D so I shouldn't be completely blocked. The doctor told me that the intussecption and come and go. I know in babies it is a emergency and has to be corrected quickly. I'm sticking with the GF diet. My stomach is not distended so I hope that is a good sign also. I have only vomited once. Is it possible that the sudden change in diet is causing the dizziness?
The diet shouldn't cause lightheadedness, (at least I don't recall anyone ever complaining of that symptom in relation to the diet). I do recall being so dizzy some days that I couldn't stand up without losing my balance, so I would get back in bed, and usually after about 10 or 15 minutes, or so, (though sometimes it took an hour or two), it would dissipate enough that I could get up and go about my day.
Are you by any chance taking Imodium? Imodium makes me dizzy, but that's a pretty rare symptom, apparently. I can recall only one or two other members complaining of that symptom in connection with Imodium. Entocort can cause dizziness, also, along with balance issues, and various other neurological problems. Quite a few members have had adverse reactions to Entocort. I would assume that there are other medications that could cause the problem, also.
One time I took a digestive enzyme supplement, thinking it would help, but all it did was to cause pain, nausea and vomiting. The vomiting ended about 10 or 12 hours after I stopped taking it, but the pain and nausea lasted for several more days.
Yes, when the bloating diminishes, that's definitely a good sign - it means that you're on the right track, and making progress.
Hopefully, your doctor will have some insight into the situation, if you're still having the problem next Tuesday.
