I am convinced that if anybody can figure it out, you can Tex! You are amazing. I am extremely curious, and hope that knowing what the missing link is that causes MC will make it easier to treat (although that may not be the case). Thank you for all you have shared. :yourock:

I, like everyone else, am anxiously awaiting your book.

Thanks Everyone,

I appreciate all the kind words and encouragement. If I can keep my nose to the grindstone, I'm hoping to get it finished before the end of next month.

Tex,

I too have always been different and think that is a unique characteristic of my being. Please do not change and who cares if people look at us strange - they don't realize they are strange too.

Love, Maggie

I'm going to be reading the book's Last Chapter first. I love Kooks and I can't wait to read your manuscript. :work2:

I can't wait to read the book. I am old fashioned when it come to reading, I don't really like reading from a screen, I like to lay down on the sofa with a old fashioned paper version book.

I am so happy you are going to collect all your wisdom knowledge and great insights in a book. Please don't compromise "to be accepted" by the mainstream world. Your message will loose its power.

So yes TEX please BE DIFFERENT.

good luck with the last chapters.

Cory,

You've got the right idea - the first 4 or 5 chapters are mostly boring background information, which can be pretty dull at times, but they have to be there, as a foundation for the following chapters. After that, it gets interesting.

The book will have an introduction section, which will give an overview of the status of MC, and how the medical community seems to view it, and some guidelines on how to use the book. That reminds me - I need to completely rewrite the introduction, and the guidelines, because I've added so many chapters, and so many issues that weren't in the original outline.

Maggie and Harma,

Encouraging me to be different, is like pouring gasoline on a fire. I just hope I don't overdo it.

Tex, if you don't sell 1,080 (and counting) copies of your book on the first day I'll eat my hat--after all, my hat is GF, SF & DF. I didn't realize you were closing in on it so fast, that is super news. And we're all excited about your cliff hanger.

BTW, I've been meaning to mention how much I enjoy your afterword re the hardest substance--I didn't realize you know my GI, Doctor Diet has nothing to do with it! Well, my ex-GI I guess you'd have to call him, with the help of this wonderful group, I'm in good hands and making progress.

Beverly,

I sure hope you don't have to eat a perfectly good hat - I was hoping to sell maybe a thousand copies in the first year or two. I hope you're right, but I still have to figure out how to merchandise it. I can't afford a high-dollar ad campaign, so I'll have to take that a step at a time.

I kinda like that tag line too, but that's just one more reason, (among many), why most GI docs would never consider reading anything I write.

Tex, my solution for you is to create a Facebook page and pay for an ad. My son and his friend did that for some music they wrote for a few days every time they released a new song and they now have over ten thousand followers. They will soon be putting their music up on the iTunes site and hopefully will be making a few bucks. Social media can be a wonderful thing. After all, I found you all

Dave just said he'd imagine a lot of people would want to buy a copy to give to their doctors, however, you'd need a special "Cliff's Notes" edition for them! Beverly

Hi Linda,

I agree that's the way to do it these days, but one of my lifelong goals is to never join Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc., and so far I've been successful, so I don't want to ruin that record.

I'm different - remember? For example, I'm one of those retarded individuals who believe that a cell phone should be used for vocal communication, not for texting, since speaking is so much easier and faster than punching messages into a miniscule keyboard, one character at a time.

Me too, Harma, I do enough "screen reading" on the computer.

I spent many, many years of my life trying to conform so that people would "like" me. It was only when I FINALLY accepted I am "strange" that things turned around, and people did begin to like me.
I value my strangeness today.

Harma -I love reading book books, but I find that the ereaders are pretty acceptable. Especially when traveling. When I went away for an extended time I used half of my weight allowance to take books. The last time I traveled I had 6 books on my reader, and could download more if I ran out. Very useful.
Adam bought himself one and is loving it. He is reading more because he has it with him all the time.

Texting is good when you have friends who can't talk for a certain amount of time, and can let you know in one sentence so you don't try again and again. I hate texting, but realize that it's useful in certain situations. Adam texts me when he is in a meeting and can't talk. He tells me when he will be free. If it's urgent I let him know.
And don't knock facebook for marketing!!
And the fact that you HAVE a cell phone already puts you in the ranks of the non retarded.

When I started to read War and Peace at the age of 15 I couldn't get into it. My mother told me to skip the first 100 pages. I did, and read it right through without putting it down.
I have read the book many times, but never the first 100 pages.

Also can't wait for the book.
