OUCH!!! OUCH!!!

Post by starfire »

 I've hurt my neck/upper back (left side). Can't turn my head to the left without it really hurting. Hurts some all the time.

Got to be better before the weekend. It would be misery driving a U-Haul like this.

Bummer! You may have to rest and allow it to recuperate for a few days. It could really be miserable trying to drive like that, (not to mention, dangerous).

I hope you recover fast, but please allow time to heal.

Oma,
Dummy me, tried to move something that was way too heavy.

I have raided Bill's Celebrex bottle. It has helped ease the pain for now.

I hope it doesn't take too much of the stuff to get rid of whatever it is.

As someone that suffers regulary from neck spasms I can sympathize with you. You don't know just how much you need the neck muscles until you can't move them! The one thing that helps if you are going to be sitting in a car for a long ride is a neck snuggy, I don't know what they actually call them. They fit around your neck and give the muscles a rest. Its not like a neck collar, its more comfortable then that. You can get them just about anywhere for under 10 dollars. I know I got my brother to get himself one, and he swears by it now. It also really helps when you are suffering through it and bedtime comes around. This might all be mute though since it is already Sunday. DUH Just hope it is feeling better now.

 Actually, Wendy, it's not too late. The weekend I was referring to is next weekend. Oct 2 & 3, my sister and I will be sharing the task of driving a U-haul from Buford, Georgia to Vero Beach, Florida. (actually Fort Pierce, but Vero is closer), so if I don't feel LOTS better by tomorrow, I'll probably look for a "neck snuggy". Hope I can find one - LOL. Drug Store???? Walmart????

You can buy them at either store, or at least I have found them in both places. At Walmart, they were in the pillow area, linens, around there. Pharmacy had them in the area where they kept items like canes and so forth. I am glad that I was able to reach you before you made the trip instead of after. They are shaped like quarter moons, so they curve around your neck for support. Good luck. That will be quite a trip for you.

Hugs

Celebrex should help with the inflamation. Do you have Voltaran Emugel over there. I find it really good for that sort of thing.

I didn't sleep a LOT last night but I did stay in bed for HOURS & HOURS.
The Celebrex seems to be helping a LOT though. I can turn my quite a bit further this AM and the pain is quite a bit less. I think I'm going to be OK for the trip (unless I mess myself up again)

Going to take another Celebrex this morning just to be on the safe side.

I've never heard of the med you mentioned, Liz, but tht doens't mean we DON'T have it here...............

Thanks everyone,

Love, Shirley

Shirley you can get Voltaran in capsule form, it reduces inflamation but can have side effects. The cream is absorbed into to tissue and does not have those side effects. It is made by Novartis.

Hope you keep improving.
