Sharaine, you are so right. Where else would we say such things?.
Today I shipped frozen poop. I mean, who would do such a thing?? So glad the young man I handed the box to had no idea.
The real thing to celebrate.... now I feel well enough and hopeful enough that I can laugh about shipping frozen poop. In August I would have just been mortified at the very thought.
I keep thinking that this should be a spin-off of Jeff Foxworthy's "you might be a red-neck if..".... "you know you are a Potty Person if.....you ship frozen poop and you can't wait to hear back from the people who received it".
I think that should be my new quote.
Take care all,
Carol

Tex - these are really cute/funny!
I remember when seeing my naturopath she wanted me to keep track of what the stools looked like. My husband and I went out of town a lot between April (when I first started seeing her) through Sept of last year so I commented by saying, "I never had a chance to see, as it was gone the instant I stood up"!

Tex, these are good.
To be honest I saw the 'Joke' heading on the main page but until now I wasn't ready to laugh about LC and the crazy stuff it brings. THAT could be my biggest change of all. I've moved out of 'grief' to 'coping' and now I can find some humor in all this.
Thanks for sharing the links.

Carol, I hope you get helpful information from you frozen poop!
Tex, I hadn't noticed the jokes section. These are hilarious!
Gloria, thankfully eggs do not give me issues. I eat them frequently. With that said, I just made a pot of chicken soup and checked Riceland Rice in my Gluten/Casetin/Soy Free Grocery Shopping Guide. Wouldn't you know that Riceland isn't safe???? That's what I made chicken soup with at Daddy's last week. I can't shop without my guide obviously.
I'm still having D, but it is getting better.
Hugs, Sharaine

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Thank you, Gloria. I'm having a bad day and am so frustrated I'm near tears.
I added Normandy vegetables to my chicken soup along with Success 10-minute rice that is in my GF/SF/DF book as safe. Lo and behold, my stomach immediately began churning when I ate the soup and I darn near didn't make it to the toilet in time a few minutes later. I feel so frustrated. This is the first time that I can think of that MC is really getting me down.
I know you, Gloria, have had quite the battle and I shouldn't complain.
Thanks for listening!

Hi Sharaine - I know your message was to Gloria, but want to say hi. I know what it's like to be in the bathroom soon after a meal. At times, I have taken one mouthful of food and had to "run" to make it (and sometimes didn't get there on time). It can be VERY frustrating and can get us down. Please remember everyone is here for you with wisdom and/or compassion and laughs along your journey to good health. I am sorry you're having such a bad day.
Love,
Paula

Sharaine,
I'm sorry that nothing seems to be working.
That sounds like a mast cell reaction, (conventional MC shouldn't cause a reaction that quickly. I don't know what's in that vegetable mix, but some of them may contain histamines.

Sharaine,
After seeing a thread that Linda had posted awhile back about N.A.E.T. I found an acupuncturist who did this type of treatment. I think it has helped. She tested me for offending foods and worked to clear me of them. I can eat eggs now and also if something like mashed potatoes has dairy in it, it doesn't seem to bother me. I am still DF, GF, SF and only eat a scrambled egg once in a while. I do use eggs as ingredients without any issues. She has cleared me for a lot of things that I reacted to, but am still very careful. When at home I still eat my safe foods, and try to remain as safe when I eat out. Now that the treatment is done, at least for now, I go back every few weeks just for a regular acupuncture treatment. I think it has helped me a lot.
I am so thankful that Linda, Kari, and Gabes posted about this. IMHO it is worth a try.

That's what I've been doing the last two hours. It warms my heart though to come back online and find your comments. Paula, thanks for caring and responding. Tex, I don't understand mast cells so I will research. What I think I need is a week to just read this board and learn.
Nancy, I'll call tomorrow to see if I can find NAET treatment and/or an acupuncturist. I like control of my life and right now I have none.
I remember reading when I first joined this group (9 months ago already) about mast cells, histamines, Enterolab and I thought I wouldn't need any of it because Entocort made me feel so much better. BUT, I was wrong. Entocort just masked the true problems. I'm going to get real about this, more than I have.
Also, I've started reading The Paleo Answer. I'm not sure I agree with this guy entirely. Some of his points make sense, but some of it doesn't add up the way he presents statistics (I'm good with math). Still, I will finish the book so I can be empowered and learn.
Hugs, Sharaine

I credit my success in attaining good MC management via the Acupuncture and BIA (mixture of MRT and NAET treatment)
I consider myself very blessed to have access to fantastic practitioners who are very affordable (the treatments cost me about $40-$45 out of pocket) An hour with these guys (at $40) is 50 times more beneficial than 15 minutes with a GP that costs me $35.
none of these treatments can cure conditions, but they do assist the body to cope with the myriad of symptoms (leaky gut, inflammation, stress on the digestion organs, adrenals etc) and improve the circulation and cell health of our blood.
Via the BIA we have not been able to totally eliminate 'reaction/ intolerance' to any of the ingredients (a reaction could be MC and/or histamine reaction), we have managed to get half of them from highly sensitive to low sensitive.
like most things in MC world, neither provide a quick fix, if you are super sensitive and inflammed it will take a few weeks to lower the reactions and for the inflammation to heal.
I can only afford to have the BIA once every 4 -6 weeks and this fits with the recommendations for frequency of the treatment.
out of interest, for the first 8 months every appointment, 'inflammation' was one of the top issues identified by the BIA assessment, the appointment a few weeks ago it wasnt, woo hoo progress!
Big hugs, hope you feel better soon, and hope you find a super dooper practitioner

Sharaine,
I'm so sorry that you've been feeling discouraged. I know how you feel and sympathize with you. I think that the highs and lows in MC are what make this condition so emotionally draining.
I don't remember if you've had the Enterolab tests or the MRT tests, or if the cost of them is a problem. They both helped me quite a bit in figuring out additional intolerances. MRT revealed that I was intolerant to chicken, something I would never have figured out on my own.
I hope you see some progress soon. I would encourage you to use Imodium to settle things down for a while. It, too, can give your life back while you are working on things.
