I was reading around on the internet today and stumbled across this report in the WSJ. Fascinating. Makes me want to swallow a couple of worms to test it out. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi Laura, I have seen this article and I believe over the past couple of years there has been a couple of threads on this topic. I'm not sure but I would be a bit squeamish about a parasite like that in my system, but we should remember that a high percentage of the worlds population does have these worms normally, mostly in underdeveloped parts of the world and these populations tend not to have IBD issues, that does make one think

The helminths don't "rebalance" the immune system, as is suggested in the article - IMO, they capture the attention of the immune system, so that it simply ignores what it perceives to be less serious events, such as IBDs and most other autoimmune diseases. Someone posts about helminths at least once or twice a year, on the average. Yes, it works, it's just not very appealing to most people.
