I take plain Benadryl (the generic diphenhydramine without dyes from CVS) at night when I have seasonal allergies, and have had no problem, so I assume it contains no gluten or dairy. It makes me sleepy, so I use it also to help me get a full night's sleep. My PCP said not to take it just as a sleep aid, but it definitely helps me feel better. Plus, I think it helps my mast cell issues...I have no rash or blotchiness on my face after taking Benadryl. (Tex, does that sound reasonable?)

Yes it does.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
