THE POUNDING of the STONE DID NOTHING!!!!!

Post by barbaranoela »

Can U believe this--- @#$%^&$#*

He took the X-ray this morning--brought in to the uro.
She checked it and it showed cloudy which in her opinion----NOT GOOD
Now we had to go for a CAT to verify what she suspected!!!
Got the CAT immediatley---
They called her up and the STONE is still there!!! $%#&^%$(

Option 2----next week go back in---and go in with a teensy camera--get into the kidney and LAZER it to pieces!!!!
For this he will be OUT like a LIGHT!!!!

Option 3---which she doesnt want to do is operate thru the back---slice into the kidney and take the whole stone out!!!

I am like a :yikes: person----

And of course she has to SQUEEZE him in to one of the 2 hospitals here
How long for recovery from this???
Cant give an Xact time BUT dont WORRY!!!! :hissyfit:

Well now my son wants to grab the next plane out---and we went thru the same discussion---and thankfully Doug understands why he has to stay in AZ.

So I am so :censored: ----

Sitting around 10 days ---for what!!!!! told ya---some stones dont wanna come out and *play*

anyway---
I am as happy as a :flyingdoveleft: yeah right!!!
Tummy is ok---I am just so very very angry!!!

till later--
keep a smile
luve Barbara

Awe, that's a bummer. How's Louie taking all of this?

Is the doctor allowing you to choose which option she performs or will she decide which is the *best* ??? option?

Hugs to you  and Louie!!!!!

Hiya Margie-----definatley the 2nd one-----they want to avoid *surgery*

Hoping that this brakes up the stone--

Well if U knew Lou, he is taking it in a positive manner---He is like that---
Life is life---things happen---U take care of them!!! Thats him--

Me!!! I am the nutty one~~~~~~~~ with the whys/how come/didnt they realize with the size of the stone!!! and this annoys him  when I QUESTION!!!

So now we wait to see when there is an OPERATING ROOM available???

I wouldnt want them to cut into his back and into the kidney!!! More to really be concerned about!!

How are U feeling this day??? Better I hope

Barbara I cant believe that they could put Lou through all that without a result. Didn't they do the blasting with the aid of some sort of device so they could see what they were doing. The poor bloke.

I though they used a laser the first time? Thats what they did with Mum's.
I expect the operation is a last resort.

I can understand you being so angry and upset.

:bigbighug: :bigbighug: :bigbighug: :bigbighug: for you both

Lots of love

So Sorry, Barb, but I suppose they try the least invasive procedures first.
I'm thinking the laser will probably do the job. Could be the insurance companies want the least (cheapest) done first so that if it works they don't have to pay out any more than necessary. It probably works most of the time. That's an awful way to go (in my opinion) but they seem to have an awful lot to say about what doctors can do now, especially HMO's. You probably aren't in one of those. We aren't and I'm so very glad.

Hang in there. They WILL get it.

Barb DAD GUMMIT! (teehee)

Whew - I was hoping you would say #2!!!!! Invasive procedures into the body are bad enough without going into an organ!!! OMG

Hang in there, I would be asking all the questions too. Comes from practice with all the doctors I have been to in my life. Don't leave until they are answered. Unfortunately, sometimes they don't have a difinitive answer - they just don't know.

Lots of hugs   and peaceful vibes coming your way :goodvibes: :goodvibes: Take a deep breath and follow Lou's example - :music: What ever will be, will be :music: (can't spell the rest! Hahahahha)

Love ya,

Bummer!

If the passageway they plan to use for that procedure is what I think it is, it doesn't exactly sound like a picnic, but I suppose it will be better than surgery, at least as far as recovery is concerned.

For some reason the women here didn't pick up on the treatment about going in with a little camera and blasting them to bits, in quiet the same way you did Wayne. From a guys perspective that is. And yes, don't think that would be a picnic at all.

So many new treatments coming out all the time, and we still have to go through things that should never, never have anything stuck in them. Should there be kinda like the same rules they have about our ears??? You know, if its smaller then our elbows we shouldn't put them in??? And I know the cameras are small, BUT OUCH.

Poor Louey

Aw, RATZ, Sis!

Poor Lou. I am keeping everything crossed that the next go-round will be successful. It HAS to be so that we can plan our meeting in Atlantic City while the weather is still good. Hugz to both of you.

Love,

Polly

I am not going to get into an anatomical discussion here, but OUCH!

I like your attitude, Lou, but I would probably be running around like Barbara. :hissyfit: and :yikes:

Many :bigbighug: to both of you.

Lots of love,
