Since Barbara apparently didn't notice your question in the other thread, I guess I'll have to take a stab at it.
In a nutshell, when I first joined Sally's old board, Barbara and I were scared of each other. I guess the easiest way to explain it, is to quote a line or two from the first e-mails we shared. Here is a quote from Barbara's e-mail, (I don't think she will mind me posting it here--at least I hope she won't):
I know when I saw your first post I said,WOW, this guy is smart---and by golly U are!!!! Kinda scared me *lol* ---but after reading your post here and there I could see the warmth/compassion and caring person that U R---
And here is a quote from my response:
Funny you should say that my first post scared you. When I read your first posts, I was too scared to even respond. I could see that you knew what you were talking about, and you are one of those rare individuals who has the ability to speak straight from the heart.
We said a lot of other things, but that's the gist of how we became friends--by scaring each other. LOL.
Love,
Wayne
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Ahhhhhh, that is so cute, gives me warm fuzzies. Just goes to show you thought the power of the pen, or should I say fingers, for the typing I mean, not funny business or some such.
And do you now what Wayne you kinda scared me too, all those smart withit comments all the time. I could never be as witty, or so I thought.
But now that I see your picture too, well, I mean, how can a cigar toting guy like you be mean.
Thanks Wendy. I never realized that smoking cigars could be an asset, by helping to create a favorable aura. (I always thought it was just a discusting habit. LOL.)
Well gosh, I never rmeant to scare anyone. I have to say that I always enjoy reading your posts, and I appreciate your sense of humor. Each and every one of us, has our own unique style, and that uniqueness is what makes our personalities so interesting.
Hugs,
Wayne

We always seem to miss each other's posts in the mornings. I must have left about the time you posted, but I happened to come back and noticed it.
I hope you have a great day, too..

Here's another quote from that same e-mail that I sent to Miss BN:
I think that you overestimate me. I'm no smarter than anyone else, I just know a little about a lot of things, and I know how to find information when I need it.
I'm beginning to see cigars in a whole new light. LOL I guess my role model, George Burns, was right--cigars make great props.

I had just never seen it here in Texas--I guess I haven't been going to the right weddings. LOL.

Hahahahahaha. Gosh Lori, I don't know what to say to that--that would probably scare me, too. LOL.
