Happy update - Thank you to all who've helped

Post by tnelson »

I've been away for a bit focusing on my studies (I'm a PhD student), but I wanted to give an update and encouragement to people who are looking for help. I got back my MRT results a few weeks ago. A bunch more sensitivities showed up, and I'd already hit the jackpot on the Enterolab tests--being sensitive to practically everything they tested plus having double celiac/gluten genes.

I quit eating everything on the sensitive list and moved to LEAP's "ImmunoCalm" program, taking the most conservative intersection of the Enterolab and the MRT test results.

I can't say there was a quick miracle, but very slowly things started to improve, and the improvement has been going on long enough now that I'm beginning to believe it's real! On a scale of 0-10 with 10 being perfect, I used to have days and even weeks of 0's and 1's. Now things are 4-5, with some 6 and even 7 days. I know there could be setbacks, but this is encouraging.

Even more interesting, my incessant canker sores and headaches are gone. They just disappeared with the offending foods. So far, so good, and my fingers are crossed that this lasts!

So I can't thank everyone here enough who helped and encouraged me with information and advice. When I was out of answers, you all came through.

I'm going to keep going--I'm still at the early stages--but I'm beginning to have hope that this really will come under control.

Awesome! It's great to hear that the diet is helping. Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for sharing your encouraging news. Using your scale of 1-10 I am having a 7 day which is fantastic considering all the 0-1 days I've been through.
