I saw Dr Hamilton too.
I have been taking zantac 150 2xs a day for my GI issues and a H1 histamine and so far so good. My testing for mast cells all came back normal, he said that may happen since i still could have a mast cell activation disorder.
I'm not a doctor so I dont want to suggest your mom taking any drugs without consulting a doctor but i have read a lot of people find relief with the H1 and H2 (zantac) histamine blockers

Welcome to the board. I'm sorry to hear that your mom's symptoms are so severe. My advice is to use a little psychological strategy, in order to get the appointment that she needs. Here's how I would go about it, to make it work:
First, book an appointment to see Dr. Hamilton, at whatever date is available in June, (this might work for one of the other doctors as well, but we know that it works for Dr. Hamilton). Then, the next day, call the office again, describing how severe her symptoms are, and asking if an earlier appointment is available. By booking an appointment first, that establishes your mom as a current patient, and existing patients probably have priority over new patients, whenever a cancellation occurs on the appointment list.
Here's why I think this may work:
As you can see from the thread at the link below, Jenny was also able to get a much earlier appointment, by describing the severity of her symptoms, and asking if they could possibly arrange an earlier appointment. Maybe Dr. Hamilton has a soft spot in his heart for patients who are suffering from severe symptoms.

Is your mom on a low histamine diet? There is no need to wait for a doctor to start this. Is she trying OTC antihistamines? I suggest you go to the Mastocytosis Society website at www.tmsforacure.org to learn more about mast cell disorders. Also, if you use the search option on this forum you will find lots of useful info on mast cell disorders. I know how your mom feels. Sometimes the symtoms can be quite scary. Why not suggest she join our group?
