I really agree with Leah about starting earlier. For the life of me I can't understand why they would start at 6:00 (I was still "going" at midnight)
Last time I think I started the prep at around 3:00....much better time wise/still a pain in the ass. I've had the larger and the smaller version (which I think they don't offer anymore as it apparently messes up your electrolytes.) Don't care. I can't drink all that stuff!

So the Moviprep was aweful! The pain was excrutiating! Got through it and did the colonoscopy yesterday.
I have yellowish/white excudate, which he told me is the signs of a certain kinf od colitis, cant remember the name he told me. He took several biopsies and cultures and did blood work as well.
He is tapering me off of the prednisone and put me on Flagyl. I should have biopsies results next week and the cultures the week after.
Gall bladder is functioning at 70%, not sure what that means. He still hadnt recieved the results from the HIDA scan, but is working on that.
He took pictures and gave them to me so I could see what he was talking about. He even called this morning to see how I was doing.
I started the Flagyl yesterday and was able to take 2 of the 4 doses needed daily. I now have brown urine......is this normal???

Dawn,
The problem with the descriptions of how the cleanout prep solutions work, is that they're written by pharmaceutical company employees, and interpreted by nurses working for gastroenterology specialists. Those descriptions should be written by the patients who actually use them. If that were the case, the descriptions would be refreshingly accurate, and no one would be surprised, or disappointed, after they take it. Of course, the nurses are afraid to describe the effects accurately, because if they did that, some patients would probably refuse to use the stuff.
70% gallbladder function is not too shabby, and I would be content at that level.
Not to worry, the reddish-brown urine color is a common side effect of Flagyl.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Dawn, interesting to hear about your experience with Moviprep. When I was scheduled for a colonoscopy last november, I was told to take Moviprep. Given my suspicious nature, I googled it and found several sites with reader's opinions about Moviprep. It seemed like 99% HATED it. That was enough for me. I asked for the Miralax and Gatorade mix and was glad I did. Just curious, if you had to do another colonoscopy, would you still take the Moviprep, or use the Miralax/Gatorade mix instead?
Also, I was curious why your GI said/knew that your gallbladder was working at 70%. How could he know that if he hadn't received the results from the HIDA scan? The HIDA test is a test for gallbladder function and as far as I know the only way to tell whether your gallbladder is functioning normally.
