JEAN-----WALKING THE BRIDE

Post by barbaranoela »

Yes, many brides,of all faiths, have their mom and dad walk them down the isle---but it is originally a JEWISH CUSTOM---and then they end up under this trellis and thus the ceremony begins!!!

I have been to weddings where the bride walks alone and her mom and dad are waiting @ the altar to hand her over to the love of her life!!!!

Barbara,

I always thought it was a wonderful custom. After all, the mother usually did most of the work!

Not only did we do that, but we had a Catholic priest and a Lutheran minister perform our ceremony. Every thing worked out great except for the person I chose to marry. LOL

Love, Jean

marriages

Post by barbaranoela »

Yes, I have seen the same---my girlfiends son married a Jewish gal and @ the service they had a Rabbi and a Priest interjecting their blessings upon the couple--

And that also is lovely to see----but there are MANY priest that WONT do this---which to me is pretty ignorant---

When my daughter married her *X*,he being divorced, was a big NO NO at my Parish----so they went to Saint Josephs Church and this SOB of a preist there, said*a donation of $2,000.00 , would be appreciated!!!* I betcha---it would have gone into his pcoket!!!!

Of course they walked out and married in a non-sectarian church in the wilderness----it was beautiful---too bad the marriage didnt succeed!!!
This was Saint Pauls in the Wilderness--a most delightful Reverend married them

luv Barbara
