thank you all so much for the incredible bouquet of the most perfect roses you have ever seen! attached to the vase was an adorable little bear named 'scraggles' - we even look alike and i will treasure him forever. my living room is bright with flowers and they make me very happy!
i saw the ortho about my wrist yesterday and it seems the bone is 8 degrees off - so did i want an operation or a slight bump? i'm guessing tyra won't disqualify me from top model for such a slight imperfection i follow up with him next wednesday and then the neck specialist, too. i've had the neck brace on 24/7 since the fall but hope to be able to take it off, at least at night, soon. i would kill to be able to wash my hair i will keep you all posted as i know any details.
i'm trying to get as much rest as possible. sleep is really difficult with the pain and the stoopid brace, but it is getting better
i go to my limbo dance lessons again later today - having a heck of a time getting the bar lowered more than 5'7"
much love to you all!

Hi, Niece Peg,
Oh, go for the bump. I have one and they are quite stylish. Someday I will tell you about THAT ordeal. Not now, it's too fresh in your mind.
You're welcome for the flowers and Scraggles. I hope he is good company for you.
Well, as they say, this too shall pass. But, as I say, yeah, but WHEN????
Lots of love,
Auntie Sal

Hi Pips,
Thanks for the update. It's great to see you posting again.
I wonder if they ever get wrists set back perfectly straight. When the doc set my arm, (broken, just below the wrist, about 3 years ago), it was pretty obvious that it wasn't quite straight, so he asked if I wanted him to re-do it. I told him nope--it looks just fine, ('cause I was ready to get out of there). It's never caused me any problems, and the full range of motion eventually returned, (thouigh it took a long, long time).
It's obvious that your sense of humor has already fully recovered, so hopefully, that will help everything else heal even faster.
We've missed you around here.
Love,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
It's so nice to see a post from you!
As you can see, if you're able to read the board - your extended family misses you! Take care of yourself.
As for Tyra, what are imperfections? I figure we're all right, it's the world that's all wrong! Teehee
Lots of love and hugz! (We won't squeeze too hard!)

Hey, you keep practicing on that Limbo and you'll be doing 5'6' in no time!!
Seriously, It truly is great to see a post from you. You are sorely missed when you are not here and to know you are hurting besides makes it 10 times worse.
Please do take care of yourself and don't rush things. I know you are probably going nuts from inactivity, but try to bear it as long as necessary.

Hi Peg
Glad to see that you have been able to make it too the computer. Good sign. We are all feeling for you and hoping that you heal quickly.
I'd go for the bump if it does not bother you. Know what you mean about the hair. Hopefully you will be able to get someone to help you with it soon. Make you feel so much better.
Keep your chin up. or is that a silly thing to say to someone in a neck brace.
Love

Hi Peg,
I am thrilled to see you back and who cares about a bump on the wrist - I am sure Tyra would approve. No way she would have surgery if it meant a scar.
Don't push too hard. Just take it easy and let everyone cater to you for a while. As Martha would say = "To be waited on is a good thing."
Love, Maggie

Jaco, a parrot in Salzburg, could not only speak but seemed to understand grammar. Whenever his person left, Jaco would say "God be with you." But when several people were departing, Jaco would change it to "God be with all of you."

Am also glad to see your sence of humour is back and functioning on a level once again.
It must be hard to do allot of things, and oh, washing your hair would be something I would really miss too.
I remember when Mel broke her arm when she was just three, now she could tell you exactly what goes through our minds as adults, but we don't always say it out loud. The doctor who had a four year old daughter, could hardly keep from laughing while putting on Mels cast as MEL was telling her off in spades. She was not rude or anything, basically just complaining. In her little babyish accent she said, "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SLEEP WITH THAT THING ON, and, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PLAY WITH THAT ON, and HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO EAT WITH THAT THING ON?" She didn't stop the doctor or make it hard for either, just kept repeating about HOW hard having that thing on was going to make her life.
But like you, she was hard to keep down. She was also attempting to not do the limbo, but instead doing summersaults (sp), standing on the teeter totter part of her swing set and grand the bar on the side and flipping over it. NOT a good thing to do with a broken arm. And she did not keep her cast either. When they took it off her, she walked over the garbage can and threw it in. Then we went through the whole thing again of her telling off the doctor when he put the stretchy elastic on her arm! She did not like anything to get in the way of playing,
etc.
We went through this many more times too. It was fun, fun in the fact that I didn't have a little girl who whined about it, she just got on with life. And it was always interesting.
I think that your mom could tell us some interesting stories of when you were little too???
It must be a real bummer though??? The sleeping part is sooooo important, but not so easy to do with a freaken neck brase on??? I have been told to wear the kind that is made of foam, to give my neck a rest, but I end up pulling it off in no time. Hopefully you will be able to take it off once they get another look at how you are healing.
And by the way, "YOU GO GIRL!"
Wendy
