Smell Sensitivity???

Post by Umber »

I have been experiencing a sensitivity to certain smells. I have had a problem for several years when you walk thru the garden area where all the fertilizer and bug spray is located. It make me sick and feel light headed. Now I am having problems with strong smelling soap, lotion, hairspray, etc. Its really strange anyone else ever have this problem?

Hi Lori....It's not strange at all....My husband and I both have sensitive smellers. There are some soaps...in fact most soaps we can't use here. We use Tea Tree soap or Ivory soap with little problem. I have to be careful what kind of shampoo we use as well. I use a tea tree shampoo and conditiner as well. I have to be careful what scented candles I bring home as they effect Mike...There are about 5 kinds I can bring home. Love Oma

I have a problem with that, to some extent. I use Tide Unscented Detergent, and old-fashoined Kirk's Castile Soap, and have done so for many years. Also use plain old Prell shampoo, and unscented deodorants, such as Sure.

Yup, ultra sensitive here. Especially if its a day that I already don't feel great. I love going to the Yankee Candle shop (it is SO big) down in Deerfield, Mass...its only an hour from my house. But I can only walk around the candle room for about 15-20 minutes before I start to feel very sick. Fortunately they way they are set up, the rest of the store is relatively free from those sents.

Me Too!

I am sensitive to strong scents and wish some people would be more considerate. I can get very sick from being near a person with too much cologne. Kate, I can't even walk by the candle shop without getting a head ache.
